Now I asked a question I would normally never ask I-ching...

"Would x cheat on me with y if the opportunity arose?"

Now to be fair, this person has done absolutely nothing to cause me to ask this question. He's only shown me how much he loves me and is committed to me. I've never seen a wandering eye etc.

Yep maybe I'm paranoid... I guess this is stemming from my own scepticism of fidelity in relationships. I generally believe human beings are weak willed lol.

This question is regarding a random woman he's renting a flat with for a short period of time whilst he finds another place. Why do I feel paranoid? Well, her place resembles mine, has the same scents, style, even same candles... she vaguely resembles me in some way. He feels comfortable there because the resemblance relaxes him. In addition he's not the most disciplined person and I'm not sure how he would respond to an attractive woman hitting on him after a few glasses of wine in a place that felt like mine.

Anyway; answer I got was. 14.3 > 38

I have absolutely no clue how to interpret that. Is it saying that I need to be generous in some way? Opinions are welcome.

(Additional info is - I drew 7 of swords when I asked tarot to help me interpret the Yi's answer)

14.3 > 38 describes an imbalance between two people: one of them has a lot to offer, the other one is poor and can't offer anything, so they part ways (38).

If he's in any way poor/stingy towards you (with his feelings, his money, his time, etc), then I wouldn't trust him. If he is generous towards you, then the imbalance is between him and the flatmate, so nothing will happen between them. The 7 of swords looks worrying, especially because it pictures a camp (temporary dwelling).

I'd be inclined to view this as asking the question of you -- are you the prince or the small one? You have a great possession in your relationship; can you be large-hearted with it? And I see 38 again as pointing to you: You have different ways you can view the relationship, either as doomed to failure or open to great possibilities. Which will you choose?

Both very interesting interpretations. I didn't notice the temporary dwelling in seven of swords. Great spot diamandia. Out of the two of us; i'd say he is definitely more generous in his emotions and money than I am.

Julia, I like your interpretation of the relating hexagram 38 - something I wouldn't have thought of.

Thank you both for taking the time to help interpret the yi's answer. I will update
