Hi ! All,

I Ching is teeming with life stories; apart from their enlightenments, I always feel fun when l learn those.

Hexagram 16: Yu, it is instrumental in establishing the ducal state and dispatching troops.

Line 4 is the host line which represents the upper trigram Chen: to move i.e. to act, it is sustained by the bottom trigram Kun: the people and drive lines 5 and 6 i.e. the king and the shrine (the country). The text of line 4: The source of Yu; there will be a huge attainment; do not be suspicious; friends will gather like the hair bound by a clasp.

However from viewing the other line texts, lines 1 and 3 linked to it have evil omens: line 1 cheers for Yu, ominous. Line 4 looks up at Yu, regretful; late (actions or corrections), there is regret.

It is because line 4 has attained great achievements, the king, line 5 in this hexagram, becomes a puppet. However the text of line 5 is: to persist is ill; for a long time it won’t die (i.e. it will exist for quite awhile). In case one day line 5 changes, the hexagram will become Cui (hexagram 45): elites gathering (please see my last post: Two power forces in hexagram 45 – Result?).

Best regards
Tuck :bows:
