Hello Everyone... This one has really got me.... Well, here is a follow up reading for the job search. As I mentioned in a previous thread, I applied for a job at a local store, and the manager said he really liked me, and assured me I would be a good fit for the store and the company. Well, on some things close doesn't count, like being hired, so until I am actually there working, I can't feel relief. I talked to him last week, and he said he would give me a call at the beginning of this week. Here it is Tuesday's end, and I have not heard from him. The manager did say last week that it has been difficult to follow up with me or do a formal interview because they have a lot going on altogether. I know the store is actually filling some other positions, I think in management jobs, so that could be why they are taking a bit longer to get back to me, but I can't help but feel a little nervous. I've put in some applications at other places just in case this doesn't work out, but am still hoping it will. So, i asked

"What can I expect to come from the job search?"

I got 41.2>27

I'm taking this to mean that if I believe it will work out it will work out... 27 says I'm on my way to a more nourishing position somewhere at least.... Or a decrease in my nourishment?

Then I asked "Why haven't I received a call back from X company yet?" and I got

30.1.2.5>44

I'm not sure what this means, and I realize this question is not really the best for Yi, but if anyone wants to take a stab at it, I'm all ears. One thing I thought it could mean is I'm being viewed, because of 30 as a pair of eyes, as a woman not suitable for partnership, 44. I hope not... Does anyone see something else here. The lines are all auspicious, but line 5 is talking about a change of heart . Maybe they just changed their mind. Any ideas are welcome...

Hey DWF!

I recently got 41.2 in response to a query about a decision I had taken, so did a bit of search to understand it. This line talks of increase, not decrease.

Nine in the second place means:
Perseverance furthers.
To undertake something brings misfortune.
Without decreasing oneself,
One is able to bring increase to others.

I believe the Yi is saying you should persist with what you have started already (your application at the other company?) rather than taking new initiatives. In fact, you could run the risk of throwing yourself away (quoting Wilhelm again) in doing so. You are well equipped to "increase" the company that will hire you, so you shouldn't settle for anything lower than your market value.

Going back to my casting, I took it as a "yes" and went on with my decision. All went fine!

Thank you Cris... That makes sense considering I am applying for work I've done before, and really am quite capable of doing. I am really hoping for company #1. The location is perfect, and I really like the people that work there. Well, it sounds promising... So, you are saying persist with my efforts to get in with the first company I applied for, right? Sorry, I should have designated a letter for each company. Let's call the company I'm waiting on, that said they would get back to me the beginning of this week, X. The new company I applied to, let's call Y. . Sorry for the confusion.

No confusion: my interpretation was you should stick with X (the company, not the ex! ). Mind you, it's just my two cents... but that's what I would think if it were my reading.

With regard to 30 to 44, I was at a loss so I've had a look at the archives and found a gem here:

Maybe you should show up and express your interest again? Just an idea...


P.S.: you've moved from ferrets to fairies. I thought you were onto fairy ferrets?

Yes, I think you are right about sticking with X company, that is what my gut feeling is telling me as well. I would certainly prefer working there. I think I will pop in there tomorrow or Friday morning just to pick up a few things... I have a feeling they will initiate talk of the open position with me.

I'm having a dumb morning. I think I need to eat something ...
The Dark Crystal is a movie that was put out in 1982, created by Jim Henson and I think frank Oz. It was made with life size puppets and the latest technological innovations of 1979... If you do a google search for the dark crystal a bunch of pictures will pop up of the characters and art work associated with the film. A great story, it's one of my favorites. And it would be difficult not to appreciate the time, energy, and artistic talent that went into the film's making. It took 5 years to complete! Here are a few links to some pages about the movie... It has become kind of a cult classic over the years...

OMG !! a ghost from the past !!!

let me think.... It was that lack of clarity that didn't let me solve this matter.
I was home, ill, sleeping. The times I could have some sleep were precious because I was in pain 24/7. The phone rang and I thought that must be from the office so i pick it up.

Me: yeeeees
Her : Aren't you working today ? You sleep ?
Me : Yes, I'm sleeping
Her : Today blah blah blah.......
( me listening for more than 5min trying to understand what is going on )
after 5 min... or more :bag:

Me: Look, I'm ill and i want to sleep. Will call you later ... ( epiphany !!! )

Anyway, without having a dispute, I explain to her that I didn't like what was going on . She stop by my office after some time. I was really busy and told her that I need to finish something and go home to my bed . she started talking about her things

I had to look after my cow so we lost contact.

is that the 30>44 company ? if yes maybe 44 indicates the things they try to short out (30)

meanwhile continue your job search. (41.2>27)
"without relinquishing oneself" may suggest to keep your options open, nourish the job search.

.... My apologies, I'm such a ditz sometimes, and I'm having one of those days... I did not realize that was your post, or put together anything of what you were saying really, until just now. Kind of like getting a joke 10 minutes after someone has told it. Thank you so much Anemos, that does help! I am continuing the job search, and going to put in some more applications. I still think things will work out with that first company eventually, but in the mean time, it couldn't hurt to apply to some other jobs, even if it is just for some interview experience. And I think I will stop in the store just to say hello. Besides, I will be over that way anyhow. I have to take care of some other business right near the shop... I really like this store and company, and I know they will hire me once the right timing presents itself. My feeling on this is that they just still have a lot going on, that it is just a matter of timing, but that it will work out there.

Thanks Anemos... And thanks to everyone for their responses. Here is an update. No, I did not get the position. They decided to give the job to someone who is already hired in the company, but was on some kind of leave or something. However, I was told that my persistence was admired, and the manager said I'm at the top of the list if anything opens up at that location or another, and he would love to refer me. So, I'm thinking 41.2>27 is encouraging me to persist in the job search. And 30>44 was I think saying they have had a change of heart, they have decided to stick with this other person has returned to the company (the inferior element returning in 44).

Thanks Cris, and thank you Anemos. I do have a few other possibilities coming up that could work out. I'm supposed to call to set up an interview with another company tomorrow, and there is a girl, a friend of a friend, who set up an appointment for me on Tues for an interview for a promotions job. Similar to what I was doing before, but better pay and benefits. And there is another store I'm going to apply to in the area. So, we'll see how it goes. Maybe it is for the best.
