I met a lady on a online dating site a couple of months ago, and we have had a very ambiguous relationship since then. I asked the Ching "What role will x play in my life" and got 53.2.5 -> 18.

I interpret this to mean that while we will develop a strong bond, it will perhaps be different from what I expect it to be -- a close friend perhaps? Also this bond will be lead to a unhealthy situation.

Am I right?

Thanks,

TF

It says that things will work smoothly after awhile. But you don't have to be too persistent.( or insistent )

While these two lines changing would normally indicate a nice relationship here, there is a catch, in that the hexagram as a whole indicates a situation where one must be able to take one's time more than one might like. Ironically, men and women are so opposite, and when a man meets a woman, he wants things to move. When a woman meets a man, she wants things to develop slowly while she gets to know him. And I have observed both with myself and other men over the years, that relationships can be grounded permanently simply because the man wanted to move too fast. I think this is the key here. Don't even show too much interest for a while. Just be friendly. Don't act like you are interested per se, but only interested in finding out if you could be interested. Make her think SHE has to work for it. Let me know if this advice is of any use.

Gene,

Thanks! I have taken a much slower approach than I liked over the past couple of months like you suggested and it seems to have worked so far :) We have certainly become closer friends. Well, I suppose I must just stay at it.

Thanks
