Dear all,
my son has been experiencing bouts of crippling anxiety and panic attacks in the past year (thank you COVID situation). Now he is moving away to start college. And me thinks it can go both ways, it can help him or it can break him.
So I turned to the I Ching and asked "what will be the effect of moving away to study on X anxiety and mental health issues?'
I received 59.5.6.-7.
I think it is positive. Dispersing the king's residence is no mistake and

Dispersing blood (and I take it as going distant from your blood, your family).
Leave, go out and far away.
Not a mistake

And as for 7
Balancing the drive to 'get it done' with a measured, disciplined approach allows you to achieve your objective effectively and with less 'collateral damage': good fortune, without mistake.

Am I missing something here? I really want him to be ok and that he is happy, without me, without his therapist, without his sister. But I fear as a mother that he will find himself in the middle of a panick attack without support.
I know you will understand my preoccupation and I thank you in advance for your advice on the reading and my interpretation.
All the best,
Minnie

Wow, looks like a very positive reading to me! I see 7. The Army could be representing the new classmates. Will he live in an actual barracks/dorm? Anyway, I also see 7. as representing a small, manageable circle of responsibility, the sargent in charge of his men, not the whole country.

Btw, putting up pictures of the school and new town on the bathroom mirror so that he sees himself there helps his unconscious adapt to the new location ahead of time. Also put up stickers that say things like, "Welcome! It's good to meet you!" to attract and feel comfortable making new friends. (I've got one on my mirror that says "You look awesome!" It helped me lose 10 pounds!) (Use "YOU" in these affirmations rather than "I" - unconscious rejects a boast, less likely to reject a compliment.)

Thank you Rosada for the advice. and the help with the reading. Very much appreciated. He will leave in a self contained studio in a building where only students live
