Hi everyone,

I was looking up the Tibetan word tingdzin with an online Tibetan-English translator. Not finding the full word, I looked up the syllable ting. The translation for this was, as you might guess, a pot or cauldron used for cooking an offering. (The same as hexagram 50, ting.) However, an additional meaning was given to be samadhi, a state of deep meditation or union. It seemed suggestive and something to look into.

Interesting!

However Wilhelm does mention the sacrificial role of the Ting, being used in a holy ritual.
