Hi everyone,
I have been dabbeling with the I-Ching for a while now but I find myself overwhelmed by all the information out there. So I decided to ask the I-Ching how I can learn it.
Questions: "What is the best way for me to learn the I-Ching?"
I got Hexagram 11, Flow with changing lines 5 and 6. Turns into Hexagram 9, Small Taming.
This screamed "baby steps" to me. This will take me a long time-not something I am going to learn over night. I had no idea the I-Ching could be so sarcastic. I think I am starting to like it more... :)

Welcome Kimbenes7

Line five would likely be telling you to marry the I Ching. In other words, study its wisdom deeply. Line six tell you that everything is cyclical, and that might be a good place to start in your studies. Hexagram nine tells you that it will take a long time and a lot of study, but what else is new? It's that way with every meaningful thing. Look beneath the surface.

11 is very welcoming. and line 5 is a very auspicious line for joining with, creating a relationship.
9 doesn't only say "baby steps" but rather to approach it like a woman learning to knit. It is a process and one in which you tend to understanding the details, attending to your intuition, taming and disciplining your ability to learn and divine the signs...which are subtle and require study

Thank you so much for your interpretation. Like I said I am brand new. I have been studing Tarot for a few years but this is so different from that. I am not sure what it means to study cyclical? Any suggestions?
Thanks again, you really opened that interpretation up for me... :)

Thank you bamboo,
I can do realtionship.. I am pretty good at that... :)
It is interesting that you say "learning to knit" I am an avid knitter but it took me 9 years to get this good. I am ok with learning something over the long haul it is just when I began something it feels like I forget what to do. Thank you for expanding my understanding... :)

What I mean by cyclical is that everything has a cycle. There are times when we are up, times when we are down. There are times when the economy is up, times when it is down. Nations rise and fall, the stock market rises and falls and it does so according to natural cycles. This is what I meant by that. But most of all, we need to learn about ourselves and our own cycles. The answers the I Ching gives tells us where we are on a natural cycle.

gene,
I thought that was what you meant but I was not certain.
I tend to be a perfectionistic slave driver to myself so if I evaluate it that way giving myself slack with life being cyclical is what I need to do.
Thanks... :)
