Hi,

I've been reading through the shared readings for a little while and I'm quite impressed by interpretation help everyone provides. I've learned a lot...So I joined instead of just lurking. I'm new to the I Ching and often times can't tell what the IC is trying to tell me, particularly with many changing lines. I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this one. I asked if the career I'm in is the right career for me?

BTW, I'm feeling completely frustrated by my work-place although I enjoy the work. I feel like I'm not advancing and I don't play office politics well.

I'm not really sure if 27 means being nourished or nourishing others or both?

I'd appreciate any help.

Thank you,
Chibi-chan

Hi Chibs, welcome! This would be my quick read -

I enjoy the work.

Right career path.

I'm feeling completely frustrated by my work-place ... I feel like I'm not advancing and I don't play office politics well.

Wrong place.

40.1 Having recognized the situation is half the battle.
40.2 Start setting the foundation for change while keeping current job and financial security intact (put a resume together, go to online school/night classes, whatever needed).
40.4 Build new relationships, start networking.
40.6 Bide one's time, wait till ready, then when a more rewarding opportunity comes up, go for it.
(Based on W/B I)

I'm not really sure if 27 means being nourished or nourishing others or both?

I'd say both. 27 is a balance of nourishing self, being nourished by others, and nourishing others (W/B III, Line 1 commentary). So also, imo, there's a very positive, successful synergy between 40.1.2.4.6 and 27.

Iams Girl,

Wow and Thanks! I was piffling around with the interpretation for a long time, particularly the changing lines. I tried: the Master Yin method, Chu Hsu method, thinking about it sequentially. I was missing the meaning of the changing lines. I was trying to figure out what does foxes, golden arrows, and my big toe mean in this context. I've been comparing your interpretation to the changing lines and now they make sense.

Maybe one day I may be able to actually help someone else with an interpretation. But for now, I think this would not be helpful. I have so much to learn.

Time for me to get off my tuckus and be a little smarter about my career.

Again...Thank you.
