I recently (3 months ago) had a change in my team at work and started working with a new manager. I have felt friction with the new manager and have a feeling that he has never valued my past and ongoing contributions. Thinking about my work situation:

1. I asked Yi whether I should try to move to a different team under a different manager and I got 36.1.2.3 to 7.

2. I followed-up with another reading and asked Yi whether I should stay in my current team and I got 63.4 to 49.

How should I infer these two reading and what path should I choose

I will be grateful if one of the knowledgeable members of the community could please guide me about what my readings are trying to tell me. Thank you very much.

Hello sigmoid

I recently (3 months ago) had a change in my team at work and started working with a new manager. I have felt friction with the new manager and have a feeling that he has never valued my past and ongoing contributions.

1. I asked Yi whether I should try to move to a different team under a different manager and I got 36.1.2.3 to 7.

36.1.2.3 -- 7
This option doesn't seem like the best way to clearly showcase your talents.

...can you imagine the conflict when the new team and that manager (also new to you) understand the reasons that led you to leave your original team?...the ability to work as a team seems to be the main focus in any team.

2. I followed-up with another reading and asked Yi whether I should stay in my current team and I got 63.4 to 49.
63.4--49

seems to be the most viable, or stable, even if “your best clothes”, your best past contributions, are not widely recognized as such... perhaps a revolution is needed, a new plan in the way you interact with this new manager. ...again, the ability to work as a team seems to be the main focus.
....have you considered the situation from the new manager's point of view?...this new manager, with 3 months of work, is still getting to know his new team...maybe you need to be more patient?. ...and in the meantime, offer your best collaboration to this new manager with the main objective of fostering this need to work as a team towards a common objective?

I’ve gotten 63.4 for a position that took a lot for me to keep together and find success in. I eventually did, but it was like a bad marriage for years. So I’d see your position as tenuous and fragile in someway. Doesn’t mean you won’t stay afloat. You may be able to. But it will take a lot to do so. Just has the vibe of not being something characterized by ease. That’s my experience anyway.

36>7 - what could wound your light while you try to keep it all together or set your armies to marching to accomplish something big? Maybe it’s best to hide your light while continue in your mission, which suggests not trying to work under a new manager.

Overall, I think Yi is suggesting that you can stay on your current team but will have to tend to it, including your relationship with your manager, in a way that suggests it’s in need of extra care.

And perhaps hide your desires for a new manager. Maybe there’s an opportunity here for you to grow and overcome the friction you feel. What about asking what you can do to feel better about your position or how to improve your connection with your manager?

36 > 7 Not seen by Team!
36>7 seems to be mirroring your feeling of your light being hidden (36) in this army/team (7). While 36.1 and 36.2 can reference your determination to quietly relocate and avoid further injury, 36.3 may be cautioning that you may not be able to find a better position immediately. So as to whether you should try to join a different team with a different manager I see these hexagrams as advising you to go ahead and look into your options but be aware that an improved situation may not be available just yet. You certainly don’t want to go from the frying pan into the fire!

63 > 49 Completion leads to Transformation.
As to how it would be staying with your current team 63.4 > 49 tells me you have gone as far as you can go with this manager and are only hanging in there until you see your next opportunity - or until you decide a Revolution is necessary no matter what as in, “Life is too short and I don’t need this aggravation. Adios!” Anyway, this situation is going to complete itself and your change is gonna come.

Bottomline is it looks like you are being advise to know that this position is not your final resting place which may make having to be there a little more tolerable. Appreciate the fact you have a job and keep your eyes open. As we used to say about some boyfriends, “He may not be my Mister Right but he’s my Mr. Right Now.”

Thank you @breakmov @thisismybody and @rosada for your guidance. I took some time before replying back. As all three of you suggested, I am staying in my current team and proving my worth by working hard (12+ hours a day). It does take away time that I would like to spend with my kids, so change will come. But, now is not the time :)

Thanks a lot for helping me clear my mind and come up with a plan!
