Changing from practice to industry 46.1.2-36

In the past 10 days I decided to make a move in my career, because my current job is no longer fulfilling.
I am working as an accountant in practice and I am thinking to move into industry. And I asked the oracle for an advice.

“What do you see me about my desire to find an industry accounting job, should I persuade my desire?”
Based on the book I follow by Alfred Huan I read the following:

(46)- growing upwards

(36)- brilliant injuries

46- to rise, to ascend, to promote

• In terms of this gua, it is to promote in an upward direction.
• Growing Upward takes a further step, upgrading the action to doing something more productive.
• This gua relates to a movement of advancing.
• The image of Growing Upward is wood breaking through the ground and growing out of the earth. It is a movement of promotion from a lower level to a higher level and is associated with an effort of growth.
• Advancing smoothly without hindrance and there is no obstruction

46.1- advance
With confidence, growing upward.

Great good fortune. With confidence, growing upward: great good fortune.

Those above agree with his will.

46.2- be humble
Being sincere and truthful.

Then, favorable, even using a small offering.

No fault.

36- By proceeding one is taking a risk, even risking injury. When one’s brilliance is injured, it forces one to hold back, nurse one’s wounds. It is then favorable to proceed further.

This gua represents a time of darkness and a situation of hardship, as experienced by both King Wen and Ji Zi.

The main theme of the gua expresses the wisdom of realizing the difficulty and hardship and remaining steadfast and upright during a time of darkness, as did King Wen and Ji Zi.

So, I am confused if my decision to move is seen as a positive move (46) or as a negative one (36).

46.1.2 show that it is favourable to proceed with my desire to change into industry.
But 36 talks about injury and darkness.

I see 36 as the outcome of my move into industry because it is the second hexagram. And if I decide to go ahead like 46 encourage will I then find myself in a situation like 36 (injury and darkness)?

What do you think?

36 is the relating hexagram. It can do or be or reflect various things in a reading, but as Hilary puts it, it's most often subjective and yours. Not very often a prediction of the future, although one of the things it can show sometimes is what there's a tendency towards. (The Chinese word for the primary-relating relationship is zhi. Zhi is a possessive, like "46's 36," and can also mean towards.)

In your case here, it seems to me it might reflect your current situation - context and background. If I understand correctly (?) you feel like your light is hidden where you are - that's 36. If something's recognizable, that's probably what it is.

46 is encouraging - the oracle says "no doubts," and Hilary commentates, "Encourages vigorous activity in a spirit of optimism."

The lines also seem encouraging. I do have a memorable 46.1 example where I wondered about doing something. Based on 46.1, I did it, and literally nothing ever came of it. Nothing good, nothing bad...nothing at all. But something bad could have happened, so in a way no response was a relief even though I also didn't get the positive response I was after. Does that make any sense? Also, obviously, that's only one example, not what 46.1 "means."

Why do you think Yi's describing this as a spring offering in 46.2? Maybe read what authors have to say about spring/summer offering - it's in 45.2, 46.2, and 63.5 - and try to understand what it might be about here.

My own conclusion is that if you're game for it (looking for jobs is a slog), then by all means go ahead. If and when you're offered something, you'll have to make a final decision then, but you're not nearly to that point. Give yourself a chance.

Hi, I don´t know if this will help, but this is the way I would read 46.

1ST LINE

It shows someone without much energy or authority or even help, but who manages to grow, to progress in the subject of the consultation, only with being perseverance and docile to the circumstances .

So there is no opposition to obtain the desired result and, despite of having to start alone it seem you soon will find people to support you.

2ND LINE

This line represents someone achieving growth through his faith, its trust in its own ability to relate with empowered people who will help it.

If this connection exists, even a small action will work, everyone will trust you.

The important thing is to cultivate what you want, with faith and perseverance, for this will bring you what you want.

Do you have any interpretation on the 36 in this circumstance?

These past days I was reading more about these 2 hex and I made another interpretation:

• 46.1.2 is the present hex = it shows that I am ready to proceed, advance and grow. The universe is supporting my desire to move into industry and it seems to be a good initiative to take.
• 36 is the future hex = there will be a situation of hardship and darkness; recognise the hardship and remain firm -> perhaps it telling me that things will not move as fast as I wish (hardship and darkness), jobs are not coming up any time soon.

It could be that 36 describes the outcome of my desire to persuade a new job. Hardship = difficult to find maybe ?
And maybe it is not describing the outcome in sense of how the new job will be.

This is the new interpretation and how should I look at it.
