Good morning!
I'm a beginner at Iching so I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the art of interpretation and deciphering the messages.

I recently went through a bad break up. Found out my partner of 3 years cheated on me with a close friend on Xmas. I pretty much have made my peace with with it, and have accepted that things just wasn't what I thought they were regarding his love for me.

When it comes to me processing the break up I always circle back around to asking 'why'. The lack of answer irks me so I decided to ask iching:

'Why couldn't X commit to me?'
I received hexagram 42 changing to 27

I decided to just focus on the changing line for the sake of simplicity. Since it addressed the purity of the heart and needing to not ask... idk if this is saying his heart just wasn't in it OR if my love and heart was true to him there is no need for me to ask this question? Or maybe the message is somewhere in between those two sentiments?

Maybe the relationship didn't last be cause he felt commitment was too much of a demand for him?

Are these the proper lines of thought to follow when interpreting iChing? Or am I barking up the wrong tree? 🤔

It seems to me that the answer you receive is focused on you in the sense that you don't need this "...The lack of answer irks me..." and reminds you of the Nobler thing that you are perfectly capable of...

"I pretty much have made my peace with with it, and have accepted that things just wasn't what I thought they were regarding his love for me."

I imagine the answer you got reminding you to nurture yourself as a more mature person in this relationship....it could therefore also be a "more mature form of selection" in the sense of "checking" which type of relationship is more in line with your essence and status.

Thank you!
I had to sleep on your input to fully process and also give it time to permeate in my understanding, I do agree with you and in fact think your take on it is spot on.

I do appreciate you taking the time. And think this is a sign to keep moving forward and using my energy on development for myself instead of mulling over the past or things that's not going to help me grow.

Thank you!

Why couldn’t he commit to a monogamous relationship?
42 - 27. Increasing Nourishment.
The man just wanted a lot of sex and 42.5, it seemed like a good idea at the time…
