Contradictory love reading

Hello everyone,

I am a long-time believer in the I-Ching and have more or less familiarized myself with the meaning of hexagrams but today I asked a question about a man I'm interested in and got an answer I have trouble interpreting.

There's this gorgeous man I've been seeing on and off on a casual basis over the past year or so. Basically we have been "friends with benefits" so, not surprisingly, on a couple of occasions in the past I've gotten 54 when I asked whether something more serious may come out of this --> I was the "second woman" for a while, while he was officially seeing someone else. However he has now broken off with her and has recently taken to introducing me to his friends.

Today I asked "Will he contact me again soon?" and got 2. So far so good. I must be receptive and feminine and wait for him to make the next move.

I then asked "Is he opening up more and more to the idea of us becoming a couple?". I got 54.3.4>11 which to me seems contradictory and I am having trouble deciphering it. Can anyone help with the interpretation?

Well,
I think 54 is saying don't expect a whole lot, you might end up disappointed if it doesn't turn out the way you want or expect it to.
"If we permit ourselves to drift along, we come together and are parted again as the day may determine."
It talks about submitting to something or someone.

3- "This pictures the situation of a person who longs too much for joys that cannot be obtained in the usual way. He enters upon a situation not altogether compatible with self-esteem. Neither judgment nor warning is added to this line; it merely lays bare the actual situation, so that everyone may draw a lesson from it."

Hmm this hex maybe saying, you know you're there and it doesn't seem too bad, let's just go with it, it's not one of deep feeling and attachment.

4- "The girl is virtuous. She does not wish to throw herself away, and allows the customary time for marriage to slip by. However, there is no harm in this; she is rewarded for her purity and, even though belatedly, finds the husband intended for her."
You want him to win you over, so you're holding a little back, he's see's the good in this.

All in all with the changing hex being 11, I think he's warming up to the idea.
I think it may just be convenient for him tho.

Anyways that's what I think.
