"Oracle, I ask one more time, how do i get out of this job safely without jeopardising my income?"

The answer comes back as Hexagram 53 - Developing with changing lines at line 2 and line 5. Which turns into Hexagram 18 - Repair.

I understand this to mean, be patience, develop and move along (in the current situation.)

Is it because I'm asking a doubled barrelled question (leave job/safeguarding income) that I am getting this answer?

To find another job will require a great deal of time and effort (53); moreover, 18 warns that you won't find a job at all if you leave. Thus, you must stay where you are and have to wait for a better time. Put up with it.

If any line shows a safe happy arrival its 53.2 where the geese find a safe place to eat and drink. 53.5 shows that after long struggles one succeeds

There have been difficulties as shown in hex 18 as the relating hexagram. It would seem as if you have had to work on dealing with past corruptions, issues , troubles and the answer shows to me that you have succeeded.


I would not be down hearted about this answer at all but you need to remain patient and let things take their course.

I think your interpretation was correct so keep moving steadily to your goal, no rash moves.

Notice you used the word 'safely', you asked 'how do I get out of this job safely' and 53.2 actually describes safety, so safe the birds can eat and drink and relax ! So I find this hard to see as other than 'yes you can arrive safely' if you follow correct procedures as mentioned by Pocossin. Often 53 means we must bear with the procedure of things. I think 53.5 isn't easy, it has that feel of going it alone being a bit lost, but eventually what you seek is found.

No need for this answer to make you feel sad IMO
