Give up? 6.1->10

I have been trying to achieve a certain objective these past few months. However much effort I place into it, there seems to be little to no results. So, I decided to ask the Yi if I should give up or not.
I was given the Hexagram 6, with changing line 1.
Hexagram 6 on it's own already suggests to "give up". "Nothing furthers" is quite literally the image.
Changing line 1 also reffairms this, Line 1 states that it is not good to "perpetuate the matter" but that the end will be fortunate. I am not sure what fortune I can expect, considering the costs that have been sunk, but oh well.

So, based off my interpretation, I assume that the Yi is saying that I should give up - and that carrying on will make matters worse (line 1).

I appreciate any and all input on this reading.

In the context of conflict, you'd better step away indeed. Is this goal of yours conflictuous in some sort?
Perhaps it's telling you that there's no need to engage in any type of conflict to achieve what you want, just chill out and do what needs to be done peacefully.

There's no conflict invovled. It's not a legal dispute or anything of the sort.

Perhaps it's a potential inner conflict that you're still not aware of. In any case, just go ahead with what you wanna achieve as I said in a peaceful manner.

Hex 6 rather than signifying giving up asks of the querent that when there are inevitable conflict points in life to settle these disputes with an attitude of compromise.

All line 1's indicate that a sense of something embryonic is waiting for you in the wings; as yet unseen. Here 6.1 states that what is in dispute, either internally or externally, is not of any real consequence and the sooner you can get over it, or get over yourself, the better.

What is fortunate for you as a result of this is that you will then be able to align yourself with the superior person in you, and begin to make new plans before you take any further actions. Through this you will be able to fulfill matters to a more satisfactory level by being able to be more discerning and discriminating about what are healthy and less healthy ways to pursue your project objectives. It will most likely help you put your thoughts of giving up in perspective,
