Hello folks,

How are you guys doing?

It's been a while as I have been busy writing up some work. I have recently written a draft of my work, in hope of getting it publish and access by members of the public. As I have always been a perfectionist and suffers from mild OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), I am always look for ways in improving my writing.

So, I've turned to Yi: "What do I have to correct to make my written draft even better?"

Hex 30.2.4>26

I remember Pocosin once mentioned hexagram 30 as a pair of eyes. This kind of relates to reading my draft ( over and over again, correcting and deleting text). Line 2 suggests the context is in its right shape and path. However, line 4 suggests a need for a concrete framework.

I would love to hear some inputs or ideas that you may have on the moving lines and hexagram 30.

Thanks in advance!

I"ll quote from The I Ching for Writers by Sarah Jane Sloane:

"30.2: Very auspicious. You will achieve your greatest dreams for your writing and other arts."

"30.4: Means that you are at risk of burning fast, of rising and falling like a meteor. Do not let your highly excitable nature overcome your good sense and lead you astray."

In other words, slow down your pace and don't work at it so intensely.

Thanks Ginnie! I like Ms Sloane's interpretation on line 4. I can see how my excitment and enthusiasm drives me to finish this piece of work. I've just searched for the book on Amazon and it appears to have good reviews. Probably a good book to add on to my existing collection.

Thanks again!

Since Ms. Sloane's book has a practical thrust, it gets right to the essence of the line. For this reason, I have found her book useful for other, non-writing questions. :)
