Hexagram 35.4 > 23 relationship and mindset to adopt

I was dating somebody during a few months. It ended suddenly and he didn’t want to meet in person to talk about what happened between us. We were just getting to know each other and there was no arguing or conflict, I only felt that he becomes detached. He suggested meeting and clarify but it was more a gesture of his part and after all he just made me understand that he was too busy to meet.
I asked several time “Why our relationship did not work?”, as I can’t ask him directly, and it also helps me to digest this situation. These weeks I received three times 35.4 > 23
I understand that it means that I am going repeatedly over this subject, but in some reading I read about that this reading involves manipulation. I was really enthusiastic about this person but I tried to not be overwhelming and give him space. I don’t see how could I be manipulative.

I also received this answer when asking “How to improve in general”. So what mindset should I follow to not to be this rodent…

If I got 35.4 about someone I was dating, I would be inclined to think they had another partner somewhere and was sneaking around like a rat and that another party wouldn't like it.

(the time I got this line it was about a relative who was sneaking around doing something without her husbands knowledge, had she been caught, it would have been ugly for her.)

Thanks a lot for answering Moss Elk. I agree with you that it can mean that there is a third person involved. Or maybe he was just looking for meeting a new person and had this sneaking attitude towards me.

As you mention sneaking I also realize that the reading can refer to his way of communication, ambiguous, unclear messages, mixed signals.
