I'd recently been offered the opportunity to make a work/consultant proposal that looked extremely promising. I did all of the preliminary work and set out very detailed specifications for what I would provide. The company was excited and loved what I was presenting every step of the way. At the last moment, they had to decline because economic conditions have closed in and they will have to go a much cheaper way. They aren't happy -- I'm not too happy myself having put an investment into my presentation. But this is life.

Moving on -- I asked the Yi "What is my best prospect now for work?" And was amazed to cast Hexagram 5.5 becoming Hexagram 11.

My understanding of this line is that it's possible to "hold out" for something and wait in relative comfort. I have been really frugal since losing my last job to the economic woes of the world. And I do have a little savings in the bank and a basic income that only just pays the bills. BUT there is not a farthing extra, just enough to survive. So I'm wondering about the idea of "eating and drinking" without gainful employment. I feel I should be doing something and getting on with it.

Any interesting experiences with this line anybody?

To me it means comfortable waiting. Waiting with confidence not fear...acting like theres no problem and what you need will arrive just as its needed :)

Here I'd take it as advice just to do what you do naturally have to do or feel inclined to do minus any anxiety... enjoying life right here in the now, each little bit of it. Taking care to enjoy what nourishes you...no need to worry

just don't worry :)

Its pretty much an order.

The world may be telling you should be absolutely freaking out but Yi isn't

I think the work you need will come when the times right. Its not like 5.5 says just sit on a chair and wait...i think it says go indulge yourself in life, ie eat and drink and be of good cheer and carry on. yeah just carry on knowing there isn't need for worry...meantime engage in whatever you like without worry

BTW when i say 'indulge yourself' in life I don't mean materially since you can't, I mean something along the lines of don't let fear or anxiety block enjoyment thats available to you....take care to enjoy, so if you are walking or playing music or whatever really get into it and don't let the worries make you not see how beautiful the sky is today and so on.

Yi says you can enjoy yourself as what you await will come...knowing it will come means right now its good to use your time enjoying

My experience with this line is what i said above.....theres no need to worry

Thanks T., that's even more relaxed than I was reading, so I'm glad if you have personal experience with this line. I was thinking -- do not freak. But I wasn't sure how I could enjoy myself. This casting sounds like good news indeed.

Yes, BTW, walking and playing music. You know my lifestyle pretty well!

I drew 5.5//11 with regard to organizing music with which to collaborate and perform! I am on Vancouver Island and my potential band mates are on the main land (there's the literal great stream for me:=). NOw I am kind of 'waiting for the miracle to come', persevering in availing myself to the spiritual material, going on walks planting secret seeds of song in fresh cracks and crannies... waiting... with a visit to a cafe i love.
