and thought I would jump right in with a request for an interpretation

I recently have had an ex gf from over a decade ago pop into my thoughts a little too frequently (after years of not thinking about the relationship on my end). I consulted the oracle as to why this was happening and got Hexagram 45 (Gathering) unchanging.

I guess at first glance to the uneducated eye this would seem like a suggestion that two people should reunite, however from the reading I have done here it seems like things are hardly ever what they seem with the oracle.

Much thanks Love and appreciation from a Superior Man :)

(Why am I thinking about my ex-girlfriend?)
45 unchanging

45 is the temple hexagram and looks like a torii. Ancient Chinese repaired to the family temple to remember those who were no longer physically present. You are thinking about your ex-girlfriend because the connection with her on the psychological level has never been broken and because no one fulfills what she fulfilled in your life. Probably she is the person in your life who most reminds you of your mother. Reading from bottom up, the trigrams of 45 may be interpreted as mother love. Whether or not you should reunite depends on the level of maturity you now possess and the level of commitment you are willing to make.

I like pocossin's interpretation. I guess it could also mean that she is thinking about you and that force has trigered you thinking about her.

Thanks Pocossin,
Yo are definitely on target on her being hard to equal.
I will admit I am still emotionally immature in the sense of working to win someone over after a breakup.
I've always found it easier to walk away and start over. Honestly when it comes to that I'm lost, I cower at the thought of my efforts being rejected.

Welcome SuperiorMan. :)

I don't think what you feel is necessarily immaturity on your behalf. Everyone wants to come out feeling like they have the upper hand on the situation. I think we do that in order to help cope through the grieving process of a relationship ending. I like Pocossin's reply as well. I have never seen him offer poor advise.

Best wishes to you.
