Though as of today -- 5 days in -- I'd say the toe is already about 85% better.I’m not an expert at this nor am I qualified to give medical advice... but if I were to venture a guess I’d say the yi is saying take it easy for about a month and you’ll be fine. You can walk, but don’t run or exercise too hard (Line 1). It’s injured for sure, but probably not so seriously that you need a doctor (Line 2). After about 4 weeks (line 5) you can resume your daily activities.
As for whether or not it’s broken, it could be. That said, unless the bone is displaced and needs reset (which would be pretty obvious if that were the case), there’s little that a doctor would do for a minor toe fracture other than tape it to another toe. And you already mentioned that in your own interpretation.
