Dear all,

I asked today "How can I get back on a good path in my life?".
Yis answer: 38.2.6>51

My emphasis was on "good path". The lines are quite comforting. It sounds like Yi is saying: "Its not as bad as you think". I dont really understand hex 51 here. Im not currently in a big shock. The "shockes" to my personal and professional situation happened some time ago. So this current situation is pretty much the new normal. Im hoping for some kind of positive change in my life, so thats why I asked.

Any help interpreting Yis answer would be most welcome. Thank you.

Hi Gnichi,

Not knowing much about your circumstances I can assume that 38.2 tells about a person important to you and who will assist you with setting on your feet.
38.6 makes me think that there is a situation when "one can't see the wood for the trees", a kind of warning that you may be immersed in details of the matter and lose sight of your goal.
As to 51 - I consider it to be the background - it may reflect your longing for changes, new beginnings, perhaps, "a zigzag", a new twist in your life.

Yes, I was thinking about who the person from 38.2 might be. If I met them already or not. And If Im on the wrong path, or maybe not. (Confucius/Legge: He has not deviated for this meeting from the proper course.) And again 38.6 speaks of a meeting, that although scary at first, turns out to be friendly. And again, I dont know if the meeting has already happened, or not. (Confucius/Legge: The good fortune of the rain symbolizes the passing away of all doubts.) Maybe Yi is saying: "What you perceive as evil circumstances will in time reveal themselves as fortunate". Yes, I agree, hex 51 might just be my longing for a change. But I guess, the essence of it is, that I have had or will have a meeting with a person that will turn out to be helpful. Does that sound right?

Just be alert to the signs, something important will happen to you, you will walk right into that situation, unknowingly, that will be a surprise (51).

38.6 warns not to plan ahead, don't be negative, see the world as it is, and even better if done with optimism.

Yes, you are right about hex 38.6, I guess Im very negative right now, and dont have much confidence in things getting better again. I will try to keep up the hope and look for the signs...
