I'm having trouble on a project at work.

I'm a graphic designer, and this project has been a real challenge. My first concept solution was fantastic, but I've been unable to do it because of time constraints. My second also a good idea, but now when I'm trying to put that idea into practice it just isn't working. I'm at my wits end, frustrated, and running out of time.

I asked:

How should I better approach this problem so I really get the project out of this world.

32.1.2 >55

So should I hang in there and keep working on the way I am... or this this really going nowhere?
If the project is going nowhere I'm in real, real trouble.

Any help would be appreciated.

32.1.2 > 55

Are you working from an overall perspective? A too early focus on details can keep one from seeing the big picture (55). The Image of 32 says,

Thunder and wind: the image of Duration.
Thus the superior man stands firm
And does not change his direction.

Line 1 suggests to me that you too early settled on specific details that could have been left variable, and line 2, that you can overcome this.

thank you Pocossin,

I was very time pressed and I think my anxiety was making it difficult for me to just relax and spend time exploring the project. It was an abstract paint concept for a publication design, and after I posted that message I just tried not to plan but explore with the medium. I spent quite some time just becoming familiar with the paints and how they move on the paper, or how I can manipulate them.
I produced some simply cracking paintings, and finalised all of the concepts on that day that you posted your message.

I would have to ask, are the time constraints constraints that you put on yourself, or is the boss insisting it be done on time. I assume it is forced upon you. What I get from this reading however, is that the time constraints are a little unrealistic, or maybe a lot. The first line suggests that someone is demanding too much at once. The second line carries on that same theme but in a different way. The commentary speaks of attempting something beyond your strength. However, at the end, things seem to work out okay, and I surmise that this is due to an extension of the deadline. However, hexagram 55 says in effect, work now, because the time is coming to an end. So do your best, I suspect that someone will eventually realize that the time frame is unrealistic.

yes you are right Gene, the time constraint was very very tight and I had so many big projects to deliver that I have been working day and night for the last three months without a day off. The deadline could not be extended, and indeed I have another very important project/interview on Monday so I am working again all weekend to get ready for it after handing in these four major projects yesterday (Friday). This I believe is what hexagram 55 was saying: this work needed to be done because the time available for me to spend on it would come to an end presently.

The demands, both by myself and from outside influences, have been high. But I was determined not to fail at this, not to come up short. Many times I have felt all that I need to do was well beyond my strength... but somehow I did it. I'm very pleased with the work I've produced for all my projects.
Pleased but exhausted.
After Monday I will be a person who gets more than 6 hours sleep, who goes outside in the sun, and who has time to spend with friends. I cannot wait.
