Hello all

I've been strugling for a while now but somehow found a kind of balance and life seems calmer.

Beeing a single mom my problem seems to be money. I don't make enough money to support my son and I and still need my mother's help. I'm 42 and would really like that to stop!

So, my 1st question was:

How can I make more money?

answer 1.2.5 to 30

so, I asked the IC if an online project I started a few months back could be the way and...the answer was 60.1 to 29,
I understood it as NO and then asked

if the Workshops I thought about for Xmas would be the way and the answer was 31.4 to 20

Will someone please help me make sens out of this?

Thank you so munch

Hello Rute,

Please re-check the answer you've received for the last question.
31.4 changes to 39 (Obstacles), not 20.

Now, about the first question
How can I make more money? 1.2.5 -> 30
I think Nigel Richmond's description sets the tone for the whole post:
Line 2 goes yin - intuitive feeling more active.
Here activity begins to show in our feelings, which are our earliest manifestation of the life force, but we need to avoid narrowing this down to action too soon; keep it open and feel, for this is the tao of creation itself; and if we do not interpose with our own pattern we are priv*ileged to know ourselves as part of the inevit*able. In practice we keep our options open.

The Chinese image.
Dragon in the open, it is an advantage to see the great man.

The life energy is in the open because it is manifesting in our feeling and it benefits us to experience this widely; to see the great man is to attend to our greater awareness. In terms of the oracle greatness is always wideness, including more, it is not power.

Line 5 goes yin - more awareness of intuition.
Here we are identifying ourselves with un*changing feeling (line 2). We have difficulty in identifying with the non-active as there seems to be nothing there.

The Chinese image.
Dragons flying in the heaven. It is an advantage to see the great man.

Dragons are the flow of earth energy - things we normally identify with - and here our identi*fications are out of place unless heaven itself (Ch'ien) can be felt.

Line 5 receives the flow from line 2, and to me it seems that Yi is telling you to open up both your intuition(line 2) and your conscious awareness of it (line 5).
To sum up: keep your options open, don't try to logically narrow down the possibilities of income.

About the online project- 60.1 to 29, Nigel:
Line 1 goes yin - life force shows more change.
In this tao outer activity is not fed suffic*iently to keep up its flow. Here in this line inner activity increases, but it is still necess*ary to conserve this and not to let it flow outwards without restraint. We have to provide our own restraint in this tao where our outer reality will take all that we can give and more, draining our source.

Here I agree with you, that it is not the answer to your needs, but it also says that you need to wait before starting something big. It's not the right time yet.

And the last one: xmas workshops, 31.4 changes to 39 (Obstacles), Nigel:
Line 4 goes yin - accepting the outer state more.
Outer action is quiet in this tao (line 3 is yang) so the influence here is for identity to be involved in quietness. This is beneficial as it allows the inner influences to have attention.

Kinda the same answer.

Allow your spiritual guide/cosmos/god/universe/angel/subconscious/intuition to tell you what to do. Don't rely on logic. When the right time comes you will feel what you need to do.
That's my interpretation.

p.s. Recently i've read about a young monk, who didn't know what to do with his life. Continue a religious life join a monastery and abandon civilization completely, or find a woman and start a new family while still finding some time for religious matters. A wise old monk said to him: "Read this prayer for 10 days, and you will know what to do". On the 10th day he felt very clearly that he should move to another city, and start a family, but still serve god as a church priest.

How can I make more money?
1.2.5 > 30

You can make more money by considering remote trends that are effective in your area, by anticipating them, and investing your efforts in them. Hexagram 30 suggest nostalgia for things from the past. My sister, for example, decorates her home with objects from the past, including the butter churn that I cranked as a child.

Multiple questions are pointless. I think everything worth knowing is contained in the first casting. Of course, I am a grumpy old man who has no tolerance for the inane exuberance of youth, and 42 is young to me. I have the strongest reservations about making money by internet activities. I have an Iranian friend who has invested his family's welfare in one internet scheme after the other. I cannot stop him but do not understand how they remain alive. He has been bankrupt at least once. Please, live in the real world, look at the opportunities that are available around you, and choose one of them.

Hello Rute, to me your question is a broad one, so the Oracle's answer might be interpreted in broad strokes as well, as if saying, (hexagram 1) "Create. Be Creative. Start something new." and (hexagram 30) "Accept being dependent on your mother a while longer, success will come to you."

My teacher was fond of saying, "Be like water, which flows into places where nothing else flows." By this he meant that a successful endeavor starts by finding an "unmet need" (the hole where nothing else flows) in your surroundings (whether local or universal, internet-wise) and then begin to fill that need. This provides income because others see you benefiting them. Ultimately, others come to join your effort, as if you have created an oasis in the desert.

For example, a young woman I know locally saw that there were a number of people offering housekeeping services and a number of people who needed those services but the two of them simply were not connecting, so she took it upon herself to start a small business organizing the housekeepers while she made the services known through various means. Everyone benefited and she made a part of the fees. She simply saw an unmet need and moved into that vacuum and coordinated things in a way that served everyone's interests. As the town grew, so did her service and she was able to quit her other job and make it her fulltime occupation. It's a simple example. Grant writers do essentially the same thing for nonprofit organizations' funding needs.

It is a formula which, once made conscious, is easy to see in operation. The trick is to familiarize yourself with your environment in such a way that you recognize the unmet need.

All the Best

Dears Ashteroid, Pocossin and Hsin

Taking the first of advices, I waited and asked for guidance. Still...I went on with my workshops plan.
Not because I'm stubborn (not only) but because the cultural association I was going to work with asked me to. It is also a very good way to keep my mind quiet as I wait...

The same day I had this call...a company close to here needs a secretary. I was not sure if I should send my resume (they don't pay much, but is a job) so aske the IC and came here to tell Ashteroid and Pocossin about it.

Your answer, Hsin, made me understand that while working for just enough money I may have to depend on my mum for some more time but, on the other hand, it will give me time (and the necessary peace) to work on my side projects and I will not be unemployed, doing volunteer work and, if all the rest goes wrong, I will still have a job! Don't you worry, Pocossin, I will not loose all my money on some internet scheme.... internet is a wonderfull thing, if you know how to use it. The thing is to actually nail it!!!

Anyway. I still need to send my resumé. In a country with almost half the population unemployed and in a regions that lives mostly from tourism(3 months) I know I qualify but....so I asked the IC. I'll just start another thread so that the reading doesn't get lost and will be as helpfull as somany others were to me.

I welcome your comments, of course!

Thank you guys! On different ways you were all very helpful here!
