I went on a job interview a few days ago. I felt really positive during the interview and afterwards. But of course I started to doubt it all and now I don’t know how I feel. So I asked “how does it look for me to be the “manager” for “this business”. (((I tried to ask a non YES OR NO question))))
I am thinking that line 2 is a positive sign that I will get the job. Becuase I am currently employed - I feel that 33.2 changing to (hidden line) 44 shows my desire for another job and I that I have a powerful will for getting this new job.
The line 33.5 “cutting ties with the past” again I think this represent the current job and me walking away from it, letting it go to move to the new, future job.

the final hexagram 50 the cauldron - “a rebirth or reconnection of your life path” a complete transformation. That would be what is new job represents - a completely new and different life. I would have to move to a new city, get a new place to live , new vehicle ,have a job that is totally different than what I am doing now. My life would be something totally different than what it is now and I have been meditating and focusing on bringing about that change for myself. I am ready to move on and leave the past behind me.
So I feel this reading was positive. Am I missing the mark or completely incorrect in that thought ?

I thank you in advance for any feeedback!!

I think your interpretation of 33, 5 is only half the story, whilst it certainly does have connotations of cutting ties with the past, there is a question of which ties, and I usually translate the yi as "praiseworthy retreat" which means that you are bound by the praiser. The addition of line two changing the entire hexagram to the cauldron which requires two bowls as sacrifice, suggests that you must heat two praisers at once in order to arrive at a satisfactory realisation of your desire. My own guess is that the established ties have more power over you than your own ability to cut them.

Yeats, thank you very much for your insight.

When you write about the “praiser” what entity is that referring to in my scenario ?

Also - what do you mean by “established ties”? Are you applying that meaning to my current employer ? Or to the potential new employer ?

Also want to make sure - I asked “what does it look like for me to become the manager of the company” I didn’t want to ask a yes or no question.
So I DID NOT ask “will I get the job” Maybe I should have ..... any thoughts on that type of wording

I think I'm only stating the obvious by saying that the praisers are the managers and the established ties refer to both the current employer and the potential new employer, which is why the image of the cauldron appears. I will quote a passage from a book as I tend to be more of a scholarly reader of the oracle than a channeller of yi interpretations:

"The ting was a tripodal vessel of bronze with two handles, used in ancient times primarily for sacrificial rituals. It is a symbol of spiritual power and an emblem of imperial power."

I could go on, but you will have to decide for yourself, perhaps another reading...

So a follow up question “will I get the job at “the company”?
I received 11.2.3.6 to 27.

I am thinking this is again a positive reply of the Yi. I have been contemplating a change in job for about 1 year and this opportunity appeared without my searching for it. I saw it as an opportunity and decided to act upon it, apply for the job and I got an interview. It went well. But haven’t been officially hired, yet, so of course in the wait to hear a definitive answer - I start thinking and doubting. Lol.
Any thoughts on 11.2.3.6 changing to 27 ??

Lorna, are you going for an actress yob;?; What kind of life are you looking for in the context of pleasure which is binding;?; Without wanting to mix traditions "kama" or pleasure is the principle of attachment to experience. 27 advises one to watch what comes in and out of one's being, which ultimately is just experiences, the fact that you are moving from tai to 27 suggests to me that you should keep it to yourself. Thank you.

Dear lorna,

I see 33 - 50 as a very positive omen for retreating from your present situation and moving on to something very good. Also 11 - 27 seems to say "think positive" as in 27. Nourish yourself with 11. Peaceful thoughts.
Of course as you noted in not wanting to ask yes-or-no questions, sometimes we interpret things one way and then after we see the results we recognize how the hexagrams meant something else entirely but either way the lines seem to say, "Don't worry! Whatever happens it's all good!"

One thing the Peace/Nourishment combo suggests to me is that over the next couple of days while you are waiting to hear the results, spend some time listening to some classical music. Music is a very powerful tool for calibrating our vibration. As you listen to the wholesome positive compositions you will not only feel more at peace yourself, but when the prospective employers think of you they will intuitively feel you on a higher wave length.

Rosada! Thank you for your thoughts I really like the idea of bringing up my vibration. This whole experience has been one of those that you kinda feel like something else is at work. I wasn’t technically looking for a new job, but was sought out. The guy who interviewed me told me during the interview that he was hesitant when he first read my resume but was moved to take a second look and then go ahead and interview me. I would essentially be his protege and work directly under him as I would be taking on some of his responsibilities as he moves into a different in the company.
I have been mediating and chanting to stay laser focused on this opportunity. I am chanting to Green Tara!
I am ready to move out of my current situation and into a new and completely different life. This has been coming for a couple of years. And with the advent of the Year of the Rat - I am ready (I am a rat!!)
Thank you again, Rosada, for your wisdom interpretation.

new development (very fitting and ironic)

so, of course, I emailed the guy who interviewed me a few days after - thanking him for his time, etc. And becuase we are in Mercury retrograde, there was a problem with the email. I fretted whether I should send it again (becuase sometimes emails go thru even tho you get a message saying there is a problem) and I decided to go ahead and resend. Later that day he emailed me back and said “.... thank you for COMING TO MEET me ....”.
the hidden line or whatever it is called (33.2) is hexagram 44 coming to meet. It was an odd choice of words, I thought, from him.

I just thought that was share worthy ...

So I asked another follow up, in light of receiving the email from the potential employer - the email from him was short and as stated - he used the phrase “coming to meet”. And he said he was “still evaluating” and used a smiley emoji!!! 😊
So I asked “How should I respond to the email from M”. I received hexagram 45 UC - gathering together. I see this as , again, a positive sign. Gathering together means being united with other for a common goal. I read LiSe’s commentary about it and “contact is much more important than perfection”. I thought and thought - how do I respond? At this point I don’t want to make a mistake, misstep - so I am hesitating in a response. I think the Yi is telling me with 45UC - just keep in contact with the guy. Don’t try to be perfect just stay in contact.

Thought on what 45UC means for how to respond

Or maybe 45UC indicates this - the next step in this job interview process, he said, was going to be another interview with one of the owners of the company. So that, in and of itself, is “gathering together of people for a likeminded effort”. Maybe 45 UC is telling me to just wait until that meeting to say anything else????!

this is a big deal for me. This job represents moving forward in my career at a time that I feel is right for me. I want to make sure I do everything I can for myself to be in the position.

thank you in advance for any thoughts.

Hi lorna23, I got 45 unchanged once as a weekly reading in a week when I actually signed a contract. "Contracting". I think it is auspicious. However - be guided!
All the very best,

45 UNCHANGING makes me think you shouldn't send anymore emails. You are part of 45. The Group of candidates and further emails at this time won't change anything (and could be an annoyance!).

thank you, mandarin and rosada!

mandarin - I love it when the Yi gets literal! Hopefully that will be my case as well - get a contract!

rosada - I was thinking that, too, maybe no reply is best reply. At least at this moment.

So much appreciation for the feedback!
