I've gone lame in the sense that I've got a lot of pain in the hips when I try to walk. I've been asking Yi about this lameness. I asked, for example, I asked, "Hip condition caused by computer usage?" Received: 49.1.3.4.5 > 2.

"Lameness caused by computer EMF's?" The response was 47.1.2 > 17.

47.1 implicates the chair I'm sitting on, which is rather like the stump of a tree. 47.2 implicates sitting too much in general and also eating too much. A lot of us sit too much these days and have become overweight, and there doesn't seem to be a great way to escape a sedentary lifestyle.

What is the best treatment for the hips, I asked. The answer: 10.3.5.6 > 34. Yes, I am a lame person who usually forgets that and thinks I can walk. Another translation points out that a lame person can still walk, just not keep up with others. Treading through life in a different way is pointed to as the solution, if I focus on the fifth line moving.

Any thoughts on my dilemma would be very much appreciated. I'm wondering if I have to give up using the computer so that my body can have a chance to heal.

Hey Ginnie...

49-2 seems to me to suggest that there is some molting happening in the hipbones, I understand that we molt or shed the bone structure of our bodies every 7 years? I think this is correct, but I could be wrong. I wonder if this is an ageing symptom as well as your posture while seated.

I would suggest that 47-17 is stating that you are sitting too much, not necessarily anything to do with emf's, just that your enforced confinement of your body in a specific pose (47) Is what the reality of this is.

10-34 i think is very straightforward here. you need to tread. to walk or use some other form of regular daily excercise and that will give you strength (34)

Get up and out! or you could get a yoga ball to sit on whilst using the computer, this will automatically straighten out your spine, but i think this is only a temporary solution. 49 and 47 really suggests to me that you change your lifestyle to strengthen yourself.

Hope you feel better soon :)

Yx

Is the pain inside the joint (arthritic) or outside in the joint's muscles, ligaments, and tendons? You can identify the source of the pain by pressing firmly around the hip joint. If pressure causes pain, then the condition is something like muscular rheumatism, fibromyalgia, or tendonitis. These sore spots (trigger points) may be reduced by massage by hand or, better, with an electric massager.

A partial remedy may be in your avatar, which appears to be a picture of alliums. If you can tolerate them, get more onions, leeks, and garlic into your diet. They have anti-inflamatory properties. I grow onions and leeks (elephant garlic) for personal use. You also might try cushions in your computer chair and heel pads in your shoes. Since both 10 and 34 suggest physical action, I think you should keep moving. Is there a Tai Chi group in your area?

I do heel-to-toe walking while waiting for things to warm in the microwave, and that has helped me.

Good info Pocossin... I think the cushy chair and socks/shoes are a great idea.

My alignment tends to get thrown off, and one of the simplest and most effective ways I have found to deal with this is special socks that are extra cushy:). They are designed to be therapeutic. They were 12 dollars a pair, but worth every penny! Mine bothers me too when I sit for too long, especially if the chair is hard. Hard chairs push my hip out of place, creating stiffness and pain.

I strongly agree with Pocossin. I say keep moving. 10 mentions footsteps and 34 combines strength and movement. 47 suggests confinement as the culprit. Maybe walking... If it is joint pain that improves with movement, the homeopathic Rhus toxicendron is indicated. I love homeopathics for quick relief. Great for acute syptoms. And super affordable.

And 10 also suggests to pay attention to your feet. They may be part of the problem. I always say, if you are feeling any pain in your back, check your feet first. A problem there will throw everything off! I had back problems for years, and although my back does have it's issues, all along there was a major problem with my foot that was contributing to the problem. Then, I got Rx orthotics, cushy socks, better sneakers etc., and made a huge difference.

Also, although the bone in our bodies is constantly being broken down, it is constantly being rebuilt as well. Resistance exercise can stimulate the formation of new healthy bone. If you are concerned, I would look into exercises you can do to support this process. 49 suggests to me the need for change. And like Pocossins exercises by the microwave, small changes can make a difference. I take 15 minutes to do a particular set of exercises to keep my alignment straight, and it makes a huge difference. Just got to figure out what is right for you:).

Thank you, Dancing WF, Pocossin, and Yxeli! You have given me such good ideas!

I do indeed sit in a hard chair, and I see now how 'enforced confinement in a specific pose' is the culprit.

Pocossin, the hip pain seems to be outside the joint in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons. I will add anti-inflammatory garlic and onions to my diet as soon as possible. I hear garlic is therapeutic in many ways.

I am already benefiting from using super-cushy socks and better sneakers. As a young woman I studied Tai Chi for many years, and my taking it up again might be something I could do without needing to attend classes ...

When I try to walk or when I stand in one spot -- that's when I feel the pain. When I just sit, there is no pain. DWF, does that mean that Rhus toxicendron would not be the correct homeopathic remedy?

I'll also look into anti-inflammatories that are applied topically. While I am a senior citizen and might expect signs of aging, I see how my own bad habit of sitting for hours in front of the computer without taking significant breaks has brought on this painful condition. It's difficult for me to place my health first -- and my need to be connected second.

Thanks for your suggestions, AQ. Turmeric and ginger together is quite a powerful combination! I am curious as to how you DO that? Maybe in eggs?

I would just get it in pills. It's so much easier. Those herbs do taste good together though from my experience, but I've never had them by themself together. I've had them together in a lot of Indian cuisine, with other herbs and spices, but this kind of cooking requires precision and time.

I love biryani, a popular rice dish in India/Pakistan. Here are a few recipes. I have never used either, but should give you an idea of what the dish is like, and it is made with turmeric and ginger, and a lot more! Thare are a lot of variations on it, and I really like ones where there is extra spice and extra sweets, so heavy on the raisins, or pineapple, and heavy on the hot spices:). I think these 2 recipes use almonds and chicken, but I've had it made with beef and cashews, and that's been my favorite. Yummy:). I'm making myself hungry... Anyway, here are the links...

I hope you can find soon the right solution for you :9
PS: I found this traslation for 10.3.5.6
Line 3 - Proceed on the tail of the tiger, eaten alive
You are forcing your luck, you bite off more than you can chew (In Italian: your step is longer than your leg). It is time to put everything in jeopardy. Maybe you think you could do much more than they actually do not know.
Line 5 - Sensitive Feet
Walk carefully. Sensitive feet in thin shoes are not suitable for heavy hiking. If you venture, expect problems. Be patient and wait your turn.
Line 6 - Watch your steps
If you feel uncomfortable, cover what you have done so far to know where you are. But if you feel that all is well continue with confidence.

I used google traslate, so I hope it is right ;P

this has been a most interesting post - what are emfs
Ginnie I love the way you say you find it hard to put your
need for health before your need to be conected.

We love to have the world at our fingertips - but at what cost
feet and hip massgae everyday some days i am too stiff to do
that. Massaging hips is a hard thing to do.

I am sat on a 3 hour coach journey now - to be honest I have
been gving computers a break and mobile phones. Its mad how
people want instant answers and freak out if you are offline or
incommunicado.

I think we do need to switch off for whole days - and walk on the
beach away from technology. Put the alarm every 15 mins - I love
the way 47 describes rooted in one place;)

Yes, me too! 39 it is. I hope you don't get this problem too often, because it's a lot of trouble.

Now we are all hungry because of those mouth-watering biryanis that DWF was discussing in the post above. Thank you, DWF. It occurs to me that I'm already taking a pill that has turmeric in it -- its bright orange color was the clue that reminded me. No ginger in that pill, however. Yes, taking them in the form of supplements does make more sense.

Carrying less around with me, at least temporarily, has also been helping me. Taking the junk out of my bag that I really don't need to carry today has been a major help. I let this condition go on for a while without taking action on it, but now I feel that with you help I'm beginning to see some improvement.

When I first started getting 39, I didn't know what it was referring to, as I was not in pain at that time. The I Ching let me know that something was brewing, some problem I couldn't see by myself.
