Need for spiritual development 10.5.6 to 54

Hi community, my first time posting.

Trying to grow through the process of accepting my shadow. Psychic sponge side effects, I feel exhausted + interpersonal challenges and uncertainty about my life directions in many important areas. 29th birthday approaching and hoping to reconnect with myself and stay true.

Question was “what do I need to connect with to keep me on the path of evolution and spiritual development?”

Answer was 10.5.6 to 54.

I would appreciate your insight.

edit to add my thoughts about the reading: more images and reflections than thoughts, the flow of life I see in my grandmother’s way of doing things well and doing things right the first time. My compulsion/drive towards danger disconnects me from exerting real power through sound and active choices in life.

You are spot on about feeling second place and like I have to watch my attitude constantly. I suppose I have been telling myself that that’s my ego talking and perhaps moving through and past those feelings is the spiritual work. I see now that maybe this has instead become a block…

I’m so curious how you can say “ you seem to know what is right for you and what is not for you” from such little shared!

Thanks for your advice, the simplest of things I neglect for myself because I feel that I have to have this “direction” piece sorted out. Thank you for the reminder that the sense of orientation should simply be to what calls and interests me. Thank you

I wrote this because your message brings together points of view that seem distant but in fact, you seem aware of what is holding you back when you evoke your impulses/compulsions and at the same time you question your spirituality. Listen to your soul...

The hexagram speaks of the right approach to follow in the sense that you must choose your own stages of your life, at your own pace (line 6, auspicious). Line 5 talks about being careful before making a decision, not going too fast, to make the right choice, to take the right direction...

I think you are being advised it's not all down to you and not nearly so much in your control as you imagine, that is 'the path of evolution and spiritual development' isn't really all down to you.

There's 54 where you aren't the one who chooses. We don't choose when to be born, we don't choose when to die yet there are billions of people who think by doing this or that they have the power over death. It helps here to remember we are as flowers in the field (can't recall which bible passage....ah 1 Peter 1:24)

“All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls."

54 talks about transience, the awareness what is here today is not tomorrow, we are all subject to the massive forces of life and death and evolution.

I do not personally think anyone can tell whether they are on the path of evolution. How would they know? Saying that would be a like a 4 year old judging the quality of her own reading capacity or something.

So what's the tiger here whose tail you nearly tread on? I think it's these big life forces both spiritual and evolutionary that you think you can handle. You can't exactly handle these, they handle you and yet your efforts though somehow dangerous don't lead to harm. In some sense you're being quite bold and Yi is reminding you of your stature whilst also saying you're okay, you've come through alive (10.6). 10.6 is invariably saying that if you've come thus far and nothing has eaten you then you're okay. It's kind of like a 'so far so good' message. There's danger in line 5 of going out on a limb, risk taking but here it seems okay.

I think the reading talks both about risks you've taken, but also risks you have no control over whether you take or not which is what being alive is isn't it. You're alive so you are, dangerously, on the path of death also, it's precarious and every new day could be your last so I think you can let evolution do it's thing with you while you just get on with the living.

Think of the tiger as being the physical representation of the ferocious all powerful Life Force and we are all the little tiger kittens trying to go with this flow, trying to stay on this energy path, trying to follow momma tiger without stepping on her tail and getting batted back into line. Up until line 5 there is a sense of caution, uncertainty as to whether we are welcome, whether we are fit or ready or can even recognize what is drawing us. At line 5 we decisively decide to consciously choose to align with "the tiger". This exposes us to some danger as we decide to wholeheartedly enter into the game of life and take responsibility, that is, choose to what and how to respond we can no longer blame luck or fate or anyone else for our life's creation. Thus coming to 54. The Marrying Maiden and the idea that there is only this ever on going principal and we are all on the path.

Rosada I have a synchronistic experience with your previous response as I’ve discovered to my surprise (in it’s obviousness!) how different my life would be if I thought positive and simply took control of my thoughts. And your storm comment too, I’ve been working with the metaphor of dropping an anchor and facing the storm.

I agree with what you are saying, yet for some reason my feeling state towards 54 makes this very difficult and feel like a hard pill to swallow. So strange. Thank you for sharing.

I think 54. The Marrying Maiden gets a bad rap because we tend to interpret it as meaning we are stuck in a subordinate position with no options - like being on a long road trip and we have to ride in the back seat. But if you see it as more like simply indicating that after completing a few 53. marriage-reproduce-death-rebirth cycles you are now at a point where you know the road so well, you've been down this path so many times before, that it's no longer exciting or even a challenge - it's just The Path, then you can be reassured and stay alert, content to have an attitude of patience especially on those tedious days when there's nothing to do but chop more wood and haul more water.
