Oracle giving 1 and 2 back to back with many changing lines

I am in a unique situation with someone where we both represent extremes of a polarity, and are undergoing a very slow union of opposites. Among many other hexes given, oracle sometimes will have a tendency to give me 1 or 2, with many changing lines, and if I press further or ask later, it may give me the opposite(2 or 1), which seems rather dramatic. Is this flipping between all yin and yang with many changing lines an indication of fraught psychic forces? It reminds me of a compass flipping back and forth.

Hmm. Well without relating hexes it can be hard to answer this.
But ultimately I would see it as balancing your receptivity (2, Yin) with your need for action (1, yang). It is the very beginning of the iching so things may be in an early state with your relationship. I’m curious if your relating hex is ever 15 or 48, to suggest achieving balance or drawing on your own (inner) resources. Yi is reflecting back to you the polarity of the situation. So you must decide if you want to be the masculine in the situation (action taker, appreciator, logic) or the feminine in the situation (receiver, follower, being cherished, feelings) —matters not if you’re male or female, but choose a role and stick to it. Truly they both have their pluses and minuses, but decide which you are and follow that. Many lines in 1 can suggest waiting/non action (1), vacillating/indecision (4), being a strong leader (5) or going head to head with someone , where in this case, you may both be fighting for the masculine role (6). With the consistent readings & multiple line changes I’m inclined to think it doesn’t matter which you choose but choose. And maybe consult yi along those lines, “how does the relationship progress if I take a more devoted / receptive role” and then again for “initiating / leadership role”
