Differences, IE:

Mary is the patron of the suffering and downcast. She is the intercessor and mediator between God and the sinner, reminding the Father of the Son?s sacrifice and blood atonement. She is a protector and she takes a believer inside.

Kuan Yin is a patron of artists and poets. She is an inspirer and liberator of the human soul. She does not intercede on behalf of anyone, and her love is not conditioned according to repentance, but is awakened through the love of creating.

Never thought of it. Isis was not chaste, but Kwannon was, for one thing. That makes a huge difference.

Whereas, I have read that there is much in common between Isis and mary, and that in fact, mary may have been inspired by Isis. Isis holds her child Horus just as Mary holds the infant Jesus.
