Reading 33.4.5 to 52

I'm in a situation with work where this might be the time to make a move. I have considered a move and have sought guidance from of my colleagues and their advice rings true, and yet, i am unsure. I asked the Oracle why I was afraid of such a change and received 33.4.5 to 52.

As a relative newbie - this reading is confusing.

I'm a newbie too, but I'll give this reading a try.

Wow! I feel for you and job moves (I always waffle and wonder if I'm shooting myself in the foot when I need to move). This reading is about your fears and not necessarily the reality of the situation. The fear could be that this move is a retreat and that even if you're "intent on taking your departure willingly and in all friendliness" (33.4) and you've chosen the "right time" (33.5)...it may lead to Keeping Still (it won't work). Does this make any sense in your situation?

Again, please keep in mind, I'm a total newbie and take anything I suggest with a bit of skepticism.

well, no matter how long i study this text i presume I will always feel like a newbie
but i will try to share my newbie view to see if it helps you somehow

I do not agree that 52 grants that this line of activity wont work. Your questions inquires about the fears, not the outcome of pursuing the new line of work, and in that sense, i can see this as advice to further meditate (and therefore the immobility of 52) on the reasons that keep you distanced from trying, in other words, the fears. In other words: take a step back to think about it. The lines seem to depict a time when staying back will bring results, and you will only know what comes up after you undertake such meditation. Maybe then some insight that will allow you to move forward with more confidence? I hope so!

much thanks for replies - and also a confession

While yes I have a potential job issue on the near horizon - what really is at the core of things is how I have lost (hopefully temporarily) my connection with, for lack of better words, I'll use "the universe". I'm in a dry spell spiritually - maybe its my age (51) maybe it's the weather maybe it's the planet alignments. The confession is this - while technically knowing that I need to sit, and still my body and my mind, so that I can actually hear what I need to hear - I have not practiced this. Instead I'm seeking guidance via the I Ching and any who will listen. I don't think I'm wrong in asking - but it seems clear, at least to me, that my troubles are coming from lack of centeredness and not external factors of the company i work for closing. What is keeping me from reconnecting? I'm not sure.
