Should I get the shop steward in for my attendance review? Hexagram 33.4

I've been off work for a while with a folic acid deficiency. It's put my absence up to 13% so I'm anxious about my attendance review. I spoke to the steward and he said to not attend unless I get a written letter for the review.

With the hexagram being retreat, it makes me think the I ching is saying "retreat from the path I'm planning on taking" but on the other hand, having him there would block my boss from potentially bullying me.

Hi there - what happened? It wasn't totally clear to me the situation but I think 33.4 is as you say, retreating from the path you are pursuing. I think it's more like go with what comes, don't push for your agenda, and then you will get gradual progress. So less drama, less pushing, but also the result will also be quite gradual - so maybe you are not really told off but rather it's noted and a discussion about what to do about it comes.

Thanks. That actually sounds on point because when I went back to work, the duty manager said that in my attendance review they would see what they can do to help. Even still, I was anxious that I was going to get a telling off because of my absence being so high.
