Stuck in the moment

Hi there,

my life is kind of "stuck" right now, i'm currently working in a dislocated place for almost a year and a half. i'm quite sociable and opened minded but never found anyone that i felt comfortable to be friend's. Summing it up, I'm not feeling happy where i am, what i'm doing, anyway i always ask the Yi for answers, i found an add for a new job and my resume really fits in, so i've asked the Yi if i should send an application for the job, which we repliesd with Hex 46-Advancing, line 1,6 changing to 26-Major restraint. The line one point to advance but six points to imature advance and changinto 26 wich says that are obstacules to overcome. don't really know if i should advance with precautions and solve unfinished bussiness or if i should wait to get more mature professionally but keep looking for a better job?
Clear insights would be very apreciated

46 is about rising, about advancement, about promotion, so it's a really good one to get for a job application. 46.1 is a great line, and 46.6 is neither negative nor positive, but means something like: keep rising even though you don't see clearly where you're going. So, that all looks like it's a good job to apply for.

Okay, so what about 26? It means, like you said, major restraint, so how does that fit into the picture of applying for the job? I don't think it means you should restrain your application for the job, because 46 says you should go for it. But there is some sort of big restraint involved in either the application or the job. I don't see what it is, but it's there: somehow in this job application which you should make, you will have to restrain something in yourself - maybe a desire for something. But there's something else in 26 which is good news for applying for jobs - it talks about 'not eating at home'. That usually means doing something new, going somewhere new, getting some new input. That sounds like it might mean a new job.

thanks for the insight. Don't know why i'm feeling a bit insecure about this, going trough a pessimistic phase, i think i'm afraid of making a wrong move.
Anyway hope i can center myself and make a good decision about my life.
Just a curiosity, i'm portuguese and "dobro" in portuguese means "twice".

Hi Candy Ross,

Asking the Yi yes/no questions is always a handicap to clear responses. Hex 46 refers to working hard to achieve distinction. The first and final lines are always transitional, here the first line deals with energetic effort that meets with support. The final line refers to what this hexagram will become next, which here indicates is as yet dark and unknown. The resultant hexagram is 26 the hexagram of working away, keeping together and setting to work rather than staying put at home.

This oracle overall seems to suggest several things--first, why are you asking about this job opportunity before you send in your application? It is generally a several step process and can get nowhere if you don't submit an application.

Second, why not submit an application? Even if you don't immediately get hired, this process of investigating what you see as an ideal job and far better alternative to your current situation must be at least several steps forward.

Third, the Oracle response seems to be giving you several cautionary notes in the hexagrams and lines involved--NOT about this job opportunity, but about your attitude to your situation. Everything in your oracle is about putting in clear effort, step-by-step and without expectation of immediate final results, though your hex 46.1 should be all the encouragement you need to move forward. That is the beginning and beyond that seems up to many factors not determined or totally settled yet.

Breaking inertia, especially in a situation you do not enjoy is quite difficult. The Yi oracle should only give you enough clear direction to get you to take that first step on the journey--beyond that is for another time when your actions will have a chance to make things different or at least clearer.

Hi Frank,

You're absolutly right, why to worry in advance. Unluckly it's a thing i have, perhaps due to being very protective of myself and perhaps i might be wrong but my CV really fits in and i'm already putting things in perspective, cause i have lot's of responsabilities on my current position and i don't like to left things messy for the next one that follows to clean. My main concern is that i've been working very hard, since i'm in my current location, facced many adversities (i know that's the best way to learn, although with a lot of sacrifice), managed to had my supperiors recognition (what was splendid), but i work on a company that provides outsource services to other companies and although i like my companie, i'm outsourcing another one that i simply hate, i'm afraid that if i'm hasty leaving my companie,i might be missing something better and of best importance.
But i'll send my CV and i'll keep in touch.
