I haven't had a steady job in sometime, and am currently living with my parents. I've done lots of odd jobs for people I know to help get by, mostly manual labor-type work. My resume, as a result, doesn't look so great after coming out of college. I admit some of this has been from not-knowing what exactly I want to do.

I've recently applied at a few temp agencies, and have an interview with one soon. I cast a hexagram for the meeting, and received 25, line 5 changing.

I took this as not trying to cover up things (using medicine), to perhaps just be honest, and even if it doesn't go so well, to have confidence things will clear up and get better. The 'illness' probably has something to do with my lack of experience, joblessness, general restlessness/need of direction.

I do wonder about it saying not using medicine. How does that relate to getting help from the temp agency, which could perhaps be seen as 'medicine', in a sense?

How would you interpret line 5 here?

Thank you.

It may be saying generally to you that whatever you feel is wrong with your situation isn't. The illness is what you feel is wrong, what you feel you must treat as a problem. But the thing is this perceived problem of yours will clear up all by itself. You think your problem/illness is being jobless, lacking experience and so on but it's okay, needs no remedy.

If I apply the answer just to the meeting and the meeting alone....well depends how you feel about going to the agency, If you don't really want to go but going is a kind of remedy to you then you don't need it ....you are doing okay anyway. If you truly want to go to the agency then just be as you are, you have nothing to hide. You sound like you have been doing what you can. It's perfectly okay not to not know what you want to do. There's nothing wrong in that so you don't need medicine you are okay as you are :D

Most people's resumes are partly fictional anyway You say you have been doing odd jobs for people you know hmmm well actually that could be called being a 'self employed maintenance operative ' .;)...or something. Hmm well I shouldn't say that here as hexagram 25 is about being without pretence...but don't underplay the work you have been doing. People must trust you to give you the odd jobs so thats more than alot of people can say.

Thanks Trojan, that helps put some things in perspective.

I asked a follow-up, "what's the best approach going into the temp agency?" :: 31.2

Looks like it is similar counsel to not try to get swept up in something prematurely, but to be okay with waiting, even a degree of indecision, and to let things develop naturally.

EDIT: Also, I initially took the wording about influence in the calves being unfortunate to mean that maybe even going to the interview wasn't a great idea. After some reflection, I believe this points to those exact thoughts, and even if going to the interview means 'tarrying' or having to wait patiently, that is better than running away from a potential opportunity.

yeah don't hurry yourself along too much you might trip up. You feel restless like something more ought to be done but try to relax and be patient.

I think on the whole it's good to follow up opportunities such as the agency interview but don't be rushed into anything, say you need a little time to think things over if they offer you work immediately perhaps. You could just say that you have a few appointments coming up and you will be in touch later. No harm in going but be clear with yourself there's no urgency here and you can take your time

It went pretty well. The "recruiter" was my age, very friendly, non-intimidating and understanding. Also, very helpful. She did most of the talking, I just told her what she needed to know and now I'm in their database. She's going to help fix up my resume. A pleasant experience, maybe it will lead to something good.
