Time Intervals

The time periods... the 7th interval is the time of rest in the Yi, the all... in Biblical perspective as well the seventh day is the day of rest in between the ongoing suchness of day in and out perserverance.

Your post about your tribulations...you said after 6 years...

the 7th then implies the rest period that puts one back on his feet---- Is this like hexagram 5 line 5? To fortify one self, the resting spot that gives one strength to meet the continuing struggle???

7 seems to be a significant number in the ALL, interconnectiveness of all, it seems.

Deb,

Yes, I feel that way about Hex 5.5, but there is much more here. There needn't be a struggle, and that's what the Seven Rules will address. And note the seven again. A very powerful number.

But there is another number - 10. And it's a scary one. Let me explain.

I agree with Steve when he said it's better not to to consult the oracle if you have no intention of taking the advice. Prior to the series of disasters that I mentioned earlier, I had another set. I was at a junction in my life, and I had decided which road I was going to take, even though I 'knew' it was the wrong one. So I consulted the Yi hoping for reassurance that all would be well, and the Yi did not oblige. I got Hex 24 Line 6. The teaching was in Line 6.

Line 6: TOO LATE - YOU?VE MISSED IT. You have been obstinate and stubborn. You knew that change was needed, but you decided otherwise. Such an attitude invites misfortune, but the misfortune is caused by you. You have missed a golden opportunity. You must change your attitudes, but you must understand that it will be a long time before you have the opportunity again. You will have to repeat the cycle.

The Yi was oh so right. That cycle lasted ten years. I learned a lot from that one.

Yes, I understand. I don't think we can really discern whether or not these periods of time that the Yi speaks of will be literal or symbolic, though.

Michael F., thank you for sharing. And I look forward to your A4 sheet.

q: What is an hour to (for) you?
a: 36->11

sunset (end of daylight)->february-march (first month, end of winter)

wild int: the amount of hours till the sun and the dark stands still, "12"

Could anyone better me please?

Michael,

where did that interpretation of hex 24.6 come from?

Wow, a ten year cycle, that's a hard lesson.

Joey-
Line 24.6 exactly describes Napoleon's military campaign on Moscow, right down to the association with winter. Then Hitler pulled the exact same stunt. In both cases, thankfully, the destruction was more than ten years worth. Big Darwin awards there.
