Time to get a new job? 1.2.6>49

I have been considering finding a new job after working at the same position for 13 years. I asked the Yi if now is a good time to find a new job and received hexagram 1 lines 2 & 6 changing to 49.

On first look it seems obvious I am ready to make a change but I am concerned by the warning of line 6.

I am not clear at all on how to interpret the Yi's response. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe 49 refers to changes you already see in motion. And the advice is to hold on, you will feel better about this, you are making a foundation for future progress.
And 1.2 is saying the potential that inspires you is beginning to manifest itself, but you should seek guidance, a mentor or someone to help you with the process. 1.6 is saying you don't want to do this the wrong way, or maybe you have already made some missteps? So get some help from someone who has been through such things before, a mentor or professional, a specialist, etc.

Could mean you can improve things where you are now, or if you move that you need advice on how to best do that. What do you think?

I have made mis-steps where I am now and have contemplated trying to improve things before changing. The office dynamic is very dysfunctional with lots in fighting, blaming, backstabbing & negativity(was this way before me & will likely continue whenI am gone). I have rarely felt like I belong there but the pay was good. It was a place to refine and expand my skills but the emotional environment wears me out on a spiritual level. I sometimes wonder if making a move will just land me in a different unsuitable position.

You have a major creative force with line 2 which speaks of a meeting with a great/big man and line 6 about going beyond your correct place and, of course, 49 is ALL CHANGE

I would take this to mean now is the time to look for a new job but not necessarily find it as well.

Well based on what you say leedx, I'd say maybe talk to human resources or management about the hostile environment you are experiencing. And/or also talk to others in your field, maybe that do not work where you do about the job market in your field and try try to get a sense of perspective of what you are dealing with. It could well be that what bothers you could be the same in other places as well, that it is part of the territory in the work you do.
Either way - or both - the Yi suggests talking to senior people about what you are dealing with, and that it is a time that things must change one way or another. Often I have found that the Yi doesn't give either or answers, but rather implies both courses of action express the same principle. Then "aversion will go away."
