Trigram Numbers

Hello everyone,

Sometime ago, I came across a book on feng-shui. Quite an interesting book, I would say.

The 8 trigrams it presented have numbers allocated them, for example:

☰ 乾 Qián 1, 4, 9
☱ 兌 Duì 4, 2, 9
☲ 離 Lí 3, 2, 7
☳ 震 Zhèn 4, 8, 3
☴ 巽 Xùn 5, 3, 8
☵ 坎 Kǎn 1, 6
☶ 艮 Gèn 5, 7, 10
☷ 坤 Kūn 8, 5, 10

Questions:
(1) Are the numbers connected with the relevant trigram correct?
Everyone of them has 3 numbers except for Kan (Water) which has 2.

(2) Where do these numbers derive from?

(3) What are the significance of these numbers?

(4) How does one use these numbers to assist in Yiching prediction?

Sorry 1eleven. I can't remember the title of the Feng-Shui book. I read it in the local library.
In my opinion, I reckon the author state the numbers of the trigrams via the interaction of the Celestial Stem, Horary Branch and the Sexagenary Cycle. I guess it is the Four Pillars calculation.
