I have got a peculiar situation coming ahead and in coming weeks i have to wish a person in the grp on this anniversary wishes and i have asked Yi "What if i go ahead wishing X in the group?". I am actually afraid that this person is going to not respond to the wishes and others would know that we are not talking to each other.

The casting looks straightforward to me but would like to know from others as well and would be great if anyone can give any other suggestions on further questioning Yi on this issue.

I am not really sure what you're asking here? Are you're not getting along with someone at work, but you have to say something nice about them, and in doing so others will know you two are not getting along?

Hi, I actually want to wish X but they definitely will not reply for my wishes in the group chat and other people in that group chat will definitely think that something is not working out between X and me...So i am confused whether to go ahead wishing X or not.

Yes, I agree with you. Wishing someone well is just that. If it is honestly and truly offered, you need not worry about what others think of your offering or how it's received.

On the other hand, if you're concerned (or have expectations) about how it's received by others, that might be disappointing!

This suggests you have an opportunity here to let go of whatever grievance was keeping you two apart and that that would be a good thing. So yes, send the good wishes and don't just write something superficial.

Now i am thinking to initiate talks about previous misunderstandings with X through a common friend of mine. Asked Yi "Is this right time to initiate talks with X?"

I like Rosada's interpretation of your first reading and I read this follow-up as saying to start small (like with the birthday wish and kind words) since right now the well is cracked and in need of repair (Line 2 is usually a deeper issue, more than a minor misunderstanding, but it's pointing to the fact that it's probably worth fixing.)
