One of my grandfather's cat has been missing for a few days. Our cats live in the courtyard (there is practically no traffic there, and lots of green areas nearby) and they often come and go. This particular cat however would rarely be away for long, and since she seemed sick the last time I saw her, so I'm worried that she went to hide in a peaceful place to pass away, as cats do. She was very young and recently gave birth (we couldn't manage to sterilize her in time), but the kittens disappeared (I don't live there, but I have suspects that someone got rid of them... I hope that I'm wrong). After that, she seemed really depressed.

So I asked where is she and in this context "Great Exceeding" sounds like an euphemism to "passing away"... But maybe I'm just projecting.

Phaboo, I agree that 28 may mean she had gone through too much to continue. But you asked "where" she is so I concentrate on her whereabouts.

In 28 we have triagram wood under triagram water. Is there any tunnel, reservoir or so on?

Besides, the hexagram's text indicates standing alone without fear. Maybe she has changed her territory?

I agree with you, too, I'm sorry to say. If she really has died, let's hope the Image applies to that, and she was neither sad nor afraid.

'The lake submerges the tree. Great overstepping.
Noble one sets up alone without fear,
Withdraws from the time without sadness.'

Yes, it could be... She might have changed her territory because she couldn't protect her kittens... And we also had cases of cats that were taken by neighbours or that were mistaken for stray cats.

There is a water tunnel but is too small I think, and cat hate water... But it could be an hint. The best case scenario is that she hid the kittens herself somewhere because she felt threatened and that she is providing for them alone. Or if the kitten actually died, she may be in the heat again, and that could be a reason for going away as well...

Yes she was really brave. Although being small, she hunted pigeons and defended her territory from larger cats.

Reading what you just said, though...maybe she really has just relocated. I hope so. "Sets up alone" sounds like that, doesn't it?
