Hi community,
I wish I could interact more here since there are so many great discussions, but my knowledge of the Yi is minimal. So I'm coming for help in interpreting.

I have 4 possible career paths:
→ Project 1 - online clothing store: it's a bit against my wish and principles since the products come from China and the ecological footprint isn't great
→ Project 2 - eco trendy pet products: it's a bit better but still comes from China
→ Full time job - very possibly it would require more than 40 hours/wk in something that I don't put my soul
→ Work on an organic farm - it's aligned with my principles, but it there's no money involved

My moral compass is very high. So anything that is not ecological and helpful to the world seems bad to me. But I'm willing to work on Project 1 or 2 and slowly move to something I resonate more. Still it seems that the Yi is telling that this isn't the right path.

Reading 0 (20 days ago): Tell me about my Dao, projects and possibilities:
60.5 > 19

Reading 1: Should I work on Project 1?
58.6 (58 > 10)
"This topmost line uses all kinds of methods to lure people in a wrong direction or allows itself to be lured." - Alfred Huang

Reading 2: Ok, what should I do then? Project 2? Full-time job? Or work on an organic farm? I am more prone to work on Project 2.
42.1.5 (42>23)
42.1 - "Favorable to engage in conducting great accomplishments."
42.5 - "With sincerity and truthfulness, Benefiting their hearts. No need to ask."
23 - Falling Away (misfortune?)

Reading 0 (20 days ago): Tell me about my Dao, projects and possibilities:
60.5 > 19

Yi sees your Dao as being held in a context of something great approaching something small, thus giving you ample opportunity to reflect on and discover what it is you are most inspired by (19). In this context you are invited to bring measure and limit into your world in order to make clear, unbiased, realistic representations of each in order to see the true connections between them (60). Creating this structure will bring 'honour and reward' (60.5).
Reading 1: Should I work on Project 1?
58.6 (58 > 10)
Project 1 can be seen as you just taking the next step (10) without really knowing why. It might just be the lowest common denominator and only something you can really be discerning of once in it. 58 means stimulating and providing of opportunities for self expression. You might be surprised by this option. There may be some wisdom contained in you more carefully considering your views on this option (58.6)
Reading 2: Ok, what should I do then? Project 2? Full-time job? Or work on an organic farm? I am more prone to work on Project 2.
42.1.5 (42>23)
What you should to is see this as a situation bathed in ways for you to strip away your old outmoded perspectives (23). Something resides with you that is past it's sell by date and needs refreshing or replacing. There is a passion or an emotional motivation that needs to have less sway for you in this time and this setting (42). Yi offers you an invitation to see the pattern of things and adjust matters to free yourself from your current entanglements.
The sooner you can do this the better (42.1). The way forward is to act intuitively. with sincerity and to follow your heart. You'll know from that 'feel good factor' when you get it right. You really don't need any more divination as your guide in this (42.5).

... of course, other interpretations may bring clearer insights for you.

Good Luck.

Hey, thanks a lot for the reply!

My English is not perfect. So you are suggesting that Project 1, despite initial reservations, might offer unexpected opportunities for self-expression and growth? What does something great approaching something small?
Could that be that a great result will come from a small project? Or on the other hand, could be that I am great and am approaching a small project?
You really don't need any more divination as your guide in this (42.5).
Yes!! It's not the first time that the Yi asks me to stop asking something... I guess I need to better phrase my questions to get more straight answers. Or study more to understand the messages.

Best wishes, Tom.

Perhaps both simpler construction and study would assist you in getting easier to understand readings.

These are your questions and the replies are targeted for you. Only you can truly decide what they mean. Divination with Yi is not a quick fix. It requires you giving of your time and devotion in order to make sense of your readings. Only you can decide what is great and what is small. I wish you well with your exploration of all the possibilities.

When beginning keep your questions simple. Asking about Dao, projects or opportunities all in one question makes it more difficult for you to decide which topic Yi is talking about. I picked the Dao to focus on because it was first in your question.

Reading 1 - the question is better; simple one topic. It is a closed question i.e. only really requires yes / no answer. Not always easy to interpret when getting changing lines. Ask open questions i.e. questions that invite dialogue. e.g. " What would it be like for me working on Project 1?" or "How would working on Project 1 shape up for me?" Find your own words and keep the question short and simple.

Reading 2 - 4 questions in one????. Again I focused on the first aspect only, just because it is easier to construct a meaningful interpretation for one question. If you have 4 things buzzing around in your head ask a separate open question on each one. A clear picture can then be drawn more easily by you for each reading.

Imagine Project 2? Full-time job? Or work on an organic farm? as being 3 tennis balls hit at the same time over the net to Yi: one a drop shot, another a lob and the last one a full blooded volley. How easy is it going to be for Yi to hit them all back to you with just one swing of the racquet.

Good Luck

I believed that all these questions were intertwined, and how I would focus my energy is my Dao. So I was expecting that one answer would suffice. But in the Yi there's no simple answer like 'focus on what is going to give resources now', or 'focus on the most humble path that things will eventually come'. Or maybe there is.

But I believe you have put a great interpretation and your analogy with the tennis balls is on point. I can have a deeper answer if I see what are the energies involved in each path, and be able to make a decision based on that rather than receiving one simple answer.

For now, I have decided to proceed with project one. This will be a quick win. Then I can focus on things that have a greater impact on the world.
