Not knowing anything about this situation, of course, that first reading suggests a tricky and potentially dangerous, highly-charged situation where you need lot of clarity (so you're right to be cautious if you can't think clearly).
The second reading--maybe yes, approach, but with your best self, calm and aware, and with great regard and care for the fragility of the situation. 55 suggests to me also that this should not be a long-term involvement.

Yes I think also that 30 > 29 suggests I need far more clarity before venturing into depths. A torch that I don't have. Plus I don't feel in any position to help someone suffering mentally at the moment, as I'm not 100% stable myself...
I also think 63.4 suggests attempting to stop a leak with rags is ineffective.. that it needs a different approach. The person new clothes, or a new boat altogether.
63.5> I'm not sure if that's suggesting it'd be worth making a simple offering. According to Nigel Richmond it recomments giving up before we start; becoming an offering rather than a killing. So maybe it'd do more harm than good. Sometimes no matter what people say you can only help yourself, and if a problem has been in existence for a while it's going to need something more..
And 55 > again I think it pertains to not seeing clearly the situation myself (eclipsed) and being far away anyway.. And maybe even that they're suffering a temporary affliction, and may not want to talk about it. I haven't been able to help in the past much either.

yes that was my very first thought when i saw the 63>55..didn't know if i could trust that thought but interesting you saw it that way too
Re the 30>29 it may be you can cast some light on the situation ...a torch on a whirlpool is the image i get but i wouldn't see it as actually getting someone out of the abyss. Can anyone ever do that ?
