What do I need to know about today?

I generally ask the I Ching about the day ahead because because the sage always seems to do well when it comes to predicting when something will go wrong.
If I know before hand it seems easier to keep things from going bad.
The ridgepole sags to the breaking point.
It furthers one to have somewhere to go.
Success.
I guess this might be saying that things have reached a point where too much weight is being put on something important. It's telling me to move out of the house or to get out from under a sagging ridgepole.
Thus the superior man, when he stands alone,
Is unconcerned,
And if he has to renounce the world,
He is undaunted.
Don't be worried about having no backup and don't fuss about losing stuff.
Maybe I'm putting too much weight on the day?
What about the lines though?
Nine in the second place means:
A dry poplar sprouts at the root.
An older man takes a young wife.
Everything furthers.
A poplar which is try manages to sprout despite the lack of moisture.
It could wind up growing really well.?
Nine in the fifth place means:
A withered poplar puts forth flowers.
An older woman takes a husband.
No blame. No praise.
A withered poplar flowering might not flower again but it's part of the
natural cycle. Although it could have been changed earlier?
Thanks for looking at my post Edge!

When we were discussing 28 on the Memorizing threads the debate over the meaning of 28.2 vs. 28.5 went on for days. If you feel you get some clarity about these lines through the events of today please post your experience on the Memorizing thread for future reference.
Possible interpretation:
28.2 Reactivation of some project good,
28.5 May not get too far but still things are mainly good.
62. May be details need to be carefully attended to each step of the way.
28. Don't sweat the small stuff.
62. It's all small stuff.

Its Friday, keep a low profile, don't gamble or drink, avoid flying as well and you will make it through the day.

Monday morning feels so bad
Everybody seems to nag me
Coming Tuesday I feel better
Even my old man looks good
Wednesday just won't go
Thursday goes too slow
I got Friday on my mind
Gonna have fun in the city
Be with my girl she's so pretty
She looks fine tonight
She is outasight to me
Tonight I'll spend my bread
Tonight I'll lose my head
Tonight I got to get..
Tonight
Monday I'll have Friday on my mind
Do the five day grind once more
Know of nothing else that bugs me
More than working for the rich man
Hey I'll change that scene one day
Today I might be mad
Tomorrow I'll be glad
Coz I got Friday on my mind
Thanks Rosada and Willowfox for your help.:bows:
I'd also like to thank Gato and Diamanda for reading my post.
I'll add my impression of today to the memorizing thread for hex 28 although I'm not sure how helpful I'll be.

What happened to Edge?
Hello Everybody!
Hope you're all well today.
I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or just add to this one because I'm asking the exact same question but on a different day.
By the way Edge. Don't worry about it.
This might be interesting though because today I received hex 29.2.4-> hex 45.
Yesterday I had hex 28!
From great exceeding to danger I go.
Weeeeee!!!!
The Abysmal repeated.
If you are sincere, you have success in your heart,
And whatever you do succeeds.
I guess this is saying I should be completely in the moment.
It's like some sort of test isn't it?
Nine in the second place means:
The abyss is dangerous.
One should strive to attain small things only.
Okay I think we're in an abyss and it's saying that this particular abyss is
so dangerous it wouldn't be a good idea to try getting out of it all at once.
Six in the fourth place means:
A jug of wine, a bowl of rice with it;
Earthen vessels
Simply handed in through the window.
There is certainly no blame in this.
I don't understand the meaning of the above but I'm guessing the ethereal sage is telling me that there's nothing wrong with simplicity and eating something.
Have I missed something here?
Hope you're all well today.

Morning everybody!
How's it going?
Nothing really bad happened yesterday. I was on alert the whole time.
The funny thing is two people I know hurt their fingers by accident.
I wound up going out with them just to keep an eye on everything.
Oddly enough now that I think of it we were all gathered together.
I think danger was actually the backdrop for yesterday and gathering was what happened as a result of me worrying about it. I would have probably stayed at home if I didn't get that hex.
Moving on...
What do I need to know about today?
hex 29.2-> hex 22
Great Taming
The Taming Power of the Great.
Perseverance furthers.
Not eating at home brings good fortune.
It furthers one to cross the great water.
Heaven within the mountain:
The image of the Taming Power of the Great.
Thus the superior man acquaints himself with many sayings of antiquity
And many deeds of the past,
In order to strengthen his character thereby.
Nine in the second place means:
The axletrees are taken from the wagon.
Okay maybe today requires using a lot of energy to tame?
I guess I'll just have to keep at it.
I think that not eating at home and crossing the great river might be telling to me go on a trip today and It'll further me...
Line 2 does point out a problem with the wagon of my axle which might refer to transport problems or having to fix some stuff before I can get things done.
I'll tell everyone how it goes! See ya.

Hi everyone!
Hope your weekend was good.
Yesterday was busy. I tried going on a trip but wound being unable to and then I wound up going on a different trip that I didn't plan and then I got a book from the library!
I think I missed the hexagram yesterday.
What do I need to know about today?
hex 40.4-> hex 7
deliverance -> the army
Deliverance. The southwest furthers.
If there is no longer anything where one has to go,
Return brings good fortune.
If there is still something where one has to go,
Hastening brings good fortune.
Thunder and rain set in:
The image of Deliverance.
Thus the superior man pardons mistakes
And forgives misdeeds.
Nine in the fourth place means:
Deliver yourself from your great toe.
Then the companion comes,
And him you can trust.
If you have nothing to do return home and if there is something get it done quickly.
Deliver yourself from your great toe
See ya!

from your eagerness to do something. relax, take a deep breath
Hi everybody!
Hope you're all doing well.
After getting 40.4 the other day I really started to look for how the hexagram would show up. It didn't really show up distinctly except for a conversation with someone I know where I had to trust the person knew what they were talking about.
When I read Gato's response though it did seem to make a lot of sense.
I only found it today though...
Yesterday I received hex 38.1.4-> hex 4.
Opposition -> Youthful Folly
Opposition. In small matters, good fortune.
Above, fire; below, the lake:
The image of Opposition.
Thus amid all fellowship
The superior man retains his individuality.
Nine at the beginning means:
Remorse disappears.
If you lose your horse, do not run after it;
It will come back of its own accord.
When you see evil people,
Guard yourself against mistakes
Nine in the fourth place means:
Isolated through opposition,
One meets a like-minded man
With whom one can associate in good faith.
Despite the danger, no blame.
Ha! I did get some opposition. Luckily it was small.
Jill(fake name) thought I shouldn't be watching a show because it might interfere with my work process but after I explained that it wasn't everything went well.
I couldn't watch immediately but then later I found time to.
Today I was given hex 43.1.4 -> hex 48
Breakthrough -> The Well
Break-through.
One must resolutely make the matter known
At the court of the king.
It must be announced truthfully. Danger.
It is necessary to notify one's own city.
It does not further to resort to arms.
It furthers one to undertake something.
The lake has risen up to heaven:
The image of Break-through.
Thus the superior man
Dispenses riches downward
And refrains from resting on his virtue.
Nine at the beginning means:
Mighty in the forward-striding toes.
When one goes and is not equal to the task,
One makes a mistake.
Nine in the fourth place means:
There is no skin on his thighs,
And walking comes hard.
If a man were to let himself be led like a sheep,
Remorse would disappear.
But if these words are heard
They will not be believed.
I guess this mean I shouldn't rush into anything without knowing what it requires and if I'm capable of handling it.
I don't understand where line 4 fits in though.
Time for me to see how it goes!
See ya later!
Hope you're all doing well.

Hi everyone!
Hope you're well.
Yesterday I had a couple of situations where I needed to do something but none of it really required going beyond my abilities on the whole. I didn't manage to get what I wanted done though. It definitely seemed like I was operating in slow mode yesterday despite the lack of difficulty in general. There were a couple of people that kept cutting into my personal space repeatedly. I just ignored it but it does make me think of this line:
It does not further to resort to arms.
Moving on...
What do I need to know about today?
hex 60.2 -> hex 3
Limitation -> Difficulty At The Beginning
Limitation. Success.
Galling limitation must not be persevered in.
Water over lake: the image of Limitation.
Thus the superior man
Creates number and measure,
And examines the nature of virtue and correct conduct.
Nine in the second place means:
Not going out of the gate and the courtyard
Brings misfortune.
Time to see how stuff goes today.
Hope you're well.

Remember, most of our days are just more of the same, mundane but continuous, so looking for scary omens every morning is not a good use of the IC. Some people like to pull cards for the day ahead, so when a scary card shows up, they automatically go into panic mode, but 99.999% of the time nothing out of the ordinary ever happens.
Nothing really bad is going to happen but just supposing it does, then we won't hear from you again because even if you knew, certain things are unavoidable.
