A party was supposed to contact me a few days ago, but I have not heard from them.

Q: Insight over them contacting me
A: 35.0

Q: Why are they not making contact
A: 5.1,2,4,5 > 62

Don't know what to think. In my experience 35 is usually associated with rapid progress, which so far has not manifested itself. I interpret 5 > 62 as referring to them (the subject of the question): it could mean they're waiting to finish attending to their routine chores before contacting me, or maybe they have waited so long that now the contact appears meaningless.

I'm not sure about how 35uc plays out here....except I would tend to take it that you are still very much in favour with them.

Why are they not making contact ? 5.1.2.4.5>62. Well it looks like someone playing it quite carefully, afraid of over committing too soon perhaps ? Or it may be as you said there are numerous details and so on to attend to before they are able to get back to you.

Those lines in 5 are quite emotive though. I wonder if the answer is about them they are a bit frozen, apprehensive (5.4) about contacting you...but in the end they manage (5.5).

When you ask about another, as you may know, very often you get advice on how you need to handle your own anxieties about waiting for the other. This answer may well be counselling you on how to wait.

Infact I feel it very well may be. The way for you to wait...if it is about you, is not to let yourself go to any dark places in your mind (5.4) and to enjoy yourself like you had no cares (5.5). You were right to be careful (62) but there's the sense that all has been done that needs to be done.

Whether it is about you or the other person I feel this is a favourable auspice and that in time the contact will be made. I say this as in my experience 5 is an indicator that what you wait for will come...indeed that is what the oracle says.


If I am wrong and they do not contact you I am sorry if this answer was misleading....but it is how I see it at the moment. Also 35uc tells me you aren't out of favour or forgotten.


Now relax...eat popcorn, watch films, paint your toe nails and play with the cat. All hex 5 advice.

One more thing. Very generally I find 5.2 can be troublesome in terms of being subject to others judgements or gossip or at least feeling exposed to it. In this reading it looks like a stage to go through...a stage of doubts which passes.

You could contact them. 5.4 can be a scary place where we sit and imagine the worst. Is that you or the other ? I don't know.



Although hex 5 isn't proposing direct action here I don't think except it is suggesting that either you or he get away from dark mental places (5.4)...and try to enjoy the present (5.5).

I think you will and everything will be dandy, but be patient and feed your head meanwhile. There may be a little indecisiveness but things will progress with time. Progress is not always immediate.

Yes waiting in hex 5 can mean quite a long wait.

Many of the observations you made resonate - indecisiveness, carefulness, apprehension, feeling of exposure - and they could well apply to me or the other party, though I am still inclined to think it's the latter they refer to in light of the question.

It's nice to know the casting indicates contact will eventually be made, however this situation does not bode well in any case. This party had made a commitment to touch base on a specific day and the fact that they have not even bothered informing me that that would not be possible or apologizing for the delay makes me think not only there is no interest on their part but also no seriousness or reliability.

Not wanting to jump to conclusions which however seem quite apparent, I asked (thanks for the inspiration, Moss Elk!):
Q: Please, how may my actions be correct in regard to this matter?
A: 48.3,5 > 7

Here the question is only about me. Is Yi saying I need to accept this contact will not be fruitful (line 3)? What should I act with determination about (hex 7)?

(Interestingly enough, all this situation developed after I inquired about the party itself and received 48.5 > 46, which I interpreted to be very auspicious...).

Btw, Cris, sometimes I've found "gossip" or talk in 5 to refer to ones own inner doubt, disapproval, suspicion; all that inner chatter. Felt I should mention that possibility.

Your second reading could easily support that possibility. Have to reach deep down for that pure water, and drink from it.

When 48 and 7 turn up I'm thinking this has to do with something collective rather than individual. Also in your recent PM you termed this party as 'these people'. So if it is a group ...I'd say it kind of looks like making a collective (48) decision or plan of action (7) Now you did ask what you should do....but overall the cast may show what to do in this situation shown as 48>7 which depicts them. 48.3 says that if only the king were wiser all might drink of the well. Who is the king here ? If I take it as about you...well it must be you. OTOH in situations where others are so involved it can be them....

Anyway there is some kind of misunderstanding here that is preventing the water from being drawn. Something which could be rectified which has not been. Maybe an over sight of some kind. Or maybe 'they are taking a long time to make a decision because their king is not so wise

48.5 shows this overcome and the water available.


To know how to take the answer who would you think might be overlooking some factor here. Is it you ?

If I had cast these answers I think I might be tempted to give them a call ....just to check no wires have crossed....? If that would not be appropriate then don't of course .

No, I am not. In a nutshell, there has been an unpleasant situation with these people and we agreed to clarify it on phone. They were supposed to call me... which they didn't.

I started this conversation asking if I would be contacted. Now I reversed the question:

Trust and kindness. I take it to mean I should indeed get in touch in a gentle and unassuming way. I guess...?!

I agree with what you said as being one way to interpret this line. There are situations that have make me see another angle of this line tho. Getting this line believed in the beginning that all we go well, yet sometimes the other side do not cooperate and this line, in some ways doesn't materialized in the way we think. Those times feels like a gentle embrace , as you did the best you could so don't worry for the results. In such cases, its a soothing answer. I recall vividly that I was facing such a silly misunderstanding and every effort to clarify didn't brought results. I desperately needed to clear things up so was one of the time I cried " God " to ask help how to deal it...I then asked Yi and got this line....

there is a nourishment we seek and expect it from outside , but Yi says , do your best and be content with that- the resolve comes from inside; that's a reward

Thank you Maria. This is an option I had not considered. All the commentaries and archived threads I reviewed seem to indicate a positive outcome... On a second thought, though, some mention that a kind heart shouldn't have expectations or goals to meet, thus anticipating that things may in fact not go as we would want them to.

I have shown my openness and kindness to this party already, and I was the one expressing interest in clearing the air. They have failed to follow through on their commitment and it wouldn't be fair for me to be in a situation where I have to take a string of excuses or, even worse, no response at all. 42.5 talks about trust and by now I don't have any in them.

If this is the situation I still wonder what the 35.0 was all about........

I'm unsure whether this reading suggests to make another contact or is in the same line with the other readings. I agree with what has been said and maybe its about waiting too. If your question express the need to do something more, maybe this line says you did what you had to do and now just wait.

I didn't mean for this to become such an intensive dialogue with Yi - I'm a not a huge fan of sagas... However considering my confusion around the last couple of castings I decided to take advantage of its infinite patience and asked:
Q: Attitude of this party towards this situation
A: 16.5 > 45

Lasting illness, but no death. Oppression, tension, too many commitments, maybe literally some ill feelings, but temporary. This could confirm the process outlined in the 5.1,2,4,5 > 62 reading - a long wait.

Update

So the party in question sent me a brief message last night saying they had been busy and asking if I was available to talk. I went to bed earlier than usual so I only saw the message this morning. My first reaction was to laugh out loud, thinking about how right Yi was in all its answers!

Then I thought: what do I want to do? By this morning they will probably be caught up again in their allegedly inescapable loop of commitments. And even if we talk now, how long will it take before we can communicate again considering the circumstances? I am past the 5.4 pit, I am past hex 5 as a whole - I am not interested in being in that position again. More importantly, I no longer see a point in sorting things out between us. My appetite is gone.

My mind was clear. I anyway asked:
Q: Insight over responding
A: 60.0

"Bitter limitations do not invite commitment."
Exactly what I feel about all the situation. I am passing on this.
