Hi have been crippled with severe bouts of sciatica for three years now and persistent general dull pain when not severe. I've taken it as a path I need to learn from and it's taken me on quite a journey of looking at old emotional traumas that I simply would not have faced without the pain , but it's been deeply frustrating and I long with all my heart to be the healthy active person I used to be.

So I asked: What attitude / action will help heal this? 41.2.4.6 - 51
I see 51 as the nerve, neurological pain..
41 my attempts to decrease it

I also asked the cause of this block/handicap and got 42.1.6-8
I'm convinced after 3 years of research that the extreme and enduring nature of the sciatica is related to sexual assaults and emotional trauma - and have faced up to this to quite a degree - if not healed from as I don't know exactly how.

But I just want to heal.. I have been through the western medical route with no change at the end of it all, all they could really give me was - 'You need to rest and move slowly and take very limited gentle exercise' which at least is finally helping rather than exacerbating like previous advice. But it's not much to move forward with..

I couldn't apply many of the interpretations of the lines but then found this from Karcher 42.6 ' working through a screen of painful memories of past encounters charged with sexual energy that involve our desperate need for recognition and approval. Make the sacrifice of these old ways and have no fear. The way to The Source is open.' From The Heart of Change. (When I have time I will read this writing of Karcher in more detail)

I am particularly interested in HEALING, so would really welcome any thoughts on the moving lines of 41 lines 2,4 and 6 :bows:

You can ask others to help you instead of making physical efforts alone. I've interpreted it first as fighting the pain with drugs but that wouldn't heal anything. 51 is a sign that you need to tell others about your problem, eventually your co-workers or a medic.

41 - Remove

One loses their support and abandons. Accepting the constraints will arouse sympathy.
41 - Remove

2 - The difficulty would be too great if one accepted.

4 - One was giving up, then has reacted and others come to help.

6 - Others come to help.
In the making
51 - Shock

Something is coming which enables the identification of a problem.

Lack of preparation while doing efforts most likely. You're asking too much from your body without the proper preparation.

42 - To progress

Looking for what can be improved.
42 - To progress

1 - Being encouraged to progress.

6 - When someone ask others to accept without preparation, they become a target.
In the making
8 - Sharing

Sharing a common vision. Hesitations can lead to regrets.

Thankyou for your reply Taoscopy. I appreciate it.

Yes you are right - the 'drugs don't work' but I've been a long way down the medic route and it's far beyond bits of assistance from colleagues being much use to me. It has totally impaired my ability to work at all. What I'm looking for in this cast is my path to Complete Healing...I've been taking it as easy as financially possible for over a year and done everything else I can think of, including lots of meditation.. :bows:

What attitude / action will help heal this? 41.2.4.6 → 51

Both 2 and 6 speak of increasing other without taking from oneself.
And 4 advises to remove your faults, your stubbornness/some walls that are keeping the help/friends from coming close.

I think (and there's a lot of cases in D.Cannon books about illness and its causes and how subconscious can heal it) that you are still not letting go of this disease.
You are punishing yourself for something and this pain is an embodiment of guilt.
Stop decreasing yourself, let go. 51 is movement! 52 is keeping still.

The cause of this block/handicap? 42.1.6 → 8
.1 You had the energy to make something great.

but

.6, Wilhelm: He brings increase to no one. Indeed, someone even strikes him.
He does not keep his heart constantly steady. Misfortune.

The meaning here is that through renunciation those in high place should bring increase to those below. By neglecting this duty and helping no one, they in turn lose the furthering influence of others and soon find themselves alone. In this way they invite attacks. An attitude not permanently in harmony with the demands of the time will necessarily bring misfortune with it.

Confucius says about this line:
The superior man sets his person at rest before he moves;
he composes his mind before he speaks;
he makes his relations firm before he asks for something.

By attending to these three matters, the superior man gains complete security.
But if a man is brusque in his movements, others will not cooperate.
If he is agitated in his word, they awaken no echo in others.
If he asks for something without having first established relations, it will not be given to him.

If no one is with him, those who would harm him draw near.

to continue:
but you have misused it in someway, being selfish or too demanding of others, disrespecting them etc.
Maybe it says that the mind has neglected this lower part of the body, and now it has withdrawn its support.

8 Uniting of the different parts is the key.

So I would say: forgive yourself, forgive the body for the pain, hug that area in your mind, send it pure love. Visualize it, fill it with light.
Forgive your mistakes, say that you love yourself, that you've learned the lesson, that there's no need for the pain anymore (this is line 4 in my opinion).
Ask the subconscious to help with the pain (it's always there, ready to help but it can't interfere on it's own), ask your body to help with pain, tell it that you don't need it anymore.
Some positive affirmations will help (i'm feeling good! I'm ready to Move in the world again etc)
And visualize every day that a healing ray of light comes from Heaven/Sun/Angels (whatever you like) and fills the cells of that area with energy.

Remove the negativity, try to be more positive: think positive, imagine well-being, concentrate on that instead of the pain.

Jesse Cannone has done a lot of work preparing materials and a program for those with back pain and sciatica. The program is called Lose the Back Pain and it is very complete. The treatments for sciatica are stretches that get to the root of the pain.

My husband was healed of sciatica by a couple of visits to a good acupuncturist.

Good luck with this!

Thanks Ginnie, I looked at the Jesse Cannone method but was turned off by the barrage of emails and the endless hard-sell before I even had time to read one email, two more would arrive.. So I just thought I don't want to be involved in anything that pushes prospective clients so hard to buy in.

Also in my case stretches exacerbate it, I've tried every type of yoga even the gentlest..the only thing that didn't make it immediately worse was tai chi.

As my specialist explained..if you have inflamed nerves, the last thing you should do is put them under pressure of any kind..when the pain is no longer an issue, yes very carefully during a rehabilitation process..but the pain must be completely eased before going near stretches.

I read Dr. John Sarno's books which I found excellent, in one ends with ' some people have persistent problems that will not go away and in his opinion this was usually related to sexual trauma ' but that's pretty much the last line of the book! With no indication of where to go from there..

I'm sure people have various causes and various degrees of sciatica. In my case it's been chronic and long-term My search continues

Thanks for your reply Ashteroid. :bows:
I have been working with the subconscious through various methods for about two years now. Positive affirmation, visualisations, done them all with discipline and consistency..

41.4 and walls - it has been very dangerous for me to accept help - some pattern in me means that people sense my vulnerability and I have many re-traumatising experiences of people who used the guise of 'helping' to further hurt and abuse me (secondary wounding it's sometimes called) - eventually you just have to accept your inability to judge who is safe - and close off - if you are to survive.

'Let it go' now there are three words that are proffered so very often in modern spiritual circles - as if one could simply will this in an instant......... 'Let it go' is an entire process of finding the truth, understanding it, processing it, seeing new potential, nurturing it and letting that replace what you let go.. It's multi-faceted, it's a journey that can take time and need re-direction, re-encouragement, re-orientation.

42.6 Ha I so fear being in even the slightest bit demanding or needy! My friends would laugh at the thought of me being a demanding drama queen! It's definitely more along the lines of not nurturing the root of myself, in my life I have been incredibly demanding of myself and work myself very hard.

I am reading very good stuff about pain at the moment, that pain forces you to focus on yourself, pain asks you to change your life. So many approaches focus on 'getting rid of the pain' - but maybe the pain will disappear when I have done everything it wants me to do & made all the changes it wants me to make. Maybe it's a gift - it's certainly got me very focused on my inner work - in a way that could not have happened if everything was hunky dory!!

I feel, back to your initial comment about 'walls' - the healing must involve intimacy and connection with others. Somehow finding how how to gauge who is safe to connect with and learn how to build trust. A big part of that is developing it within myself, putting myself first more often, feeding myself, being nicer to myself..

Yes yes, that's it. And I agree about the pain - body demands attention.

I know that 'let go' is a very widely used phrase...
But in D.Cannon books our greater selves say that you can in fact will it on the spot, in that moment.
Accept some 'wrong part' of you, accept some mistakes. Usually it takes some emotional outburst or shock to change the thought pattern, in case of regressive hypnosis - to see some event in the past life/or just from the past, to understand why is it happening.
The moment you understand why - and ready to change/accept it - you are healed.
As spirits say - the only limiting factor is your mind.

I wish I had a magic wand that would heal you and everyone who asks, but sadly I haven't found it yet.

You mentioned meditation - did it show an image of the pain? the cause?
You've been practicing for 2 years - surely the body would show you some symbols or signs?

Hi Ashteroid, I would be interested to know where I can find out more about D.Cannon and books.

Yes - 'understand why' - that bit is often missing - so many people encourage you to 'let go' - they don't say fight with all you have to find out the truth, find the meaning and then let it go. I have wrestled with this question a lot - can we let go of things we are not fully aware of? Can we heal our pain without disclosing it? I've concluded that 'No' is the answer to both. We must find out the truth or as much of it as possible and we must let 'safe' others witness our pain. Otherwise healing just doesn't happen.

Meditation 10 years - but I haven't really been able to get access to info this way - I just used it to relax and connect to the present moment. Which helps but does not provide answers.

In dreams I have been shown many assaults, attacks, paralysis, suffocation - the most recent - for the first time ever I found some strength to fight this annihilating force and I found a knife and I stabbed the attacker several times in the thigh and managed to escape. I begged onlookers for help but they just mocked me, but I continued to run to a better place.

More recently I was holding the hand of a little girl age between 2 and 3 - she had severe problems walking, she was deformed or crippled in some way, she was holding my left hand (I'm currently in most pain on left side) and my heart broke a little for her as she was so full of positivity and hope and I just thought she has no idea how damaged she is..what difficulties lie before her.

At the moment I am finding the most information and feeling of progress through paying attention to my dreams. As with everything else, I'm really investing in it - and it has taken on a life of its own. If I will be grateful to this period of life for anything - it will be the intensity with which It has compelled me to engaged with meditation and the dream-subconscious-doorway.

Pay attention to the dreams, the SC always shows us the answers using symbols.
That's also the advice from the spirits, that Dolores have received many times through her clients under hypnosis.

Wow so many attacks and assaults, they really show the fear of connecting with people.
(42.1.6 → 8 Too eager to connect?)

And this lovely young girl - I think it shows you yourself, full of hope but damaged inside.
Some fear stemming from the past, from childhood?

After all this time working with my dreams they have become less cryptic and now they are just pretty direct and obvious regarding my own life experience. Not so much need for interpretation. This is progress. However I'm not healed yet physically. Perhaps I need more and more dreams until I am not re-experiencing trauma in the dreams anymore and I'm actually healed within these dreams. It's a long road to healing.

I have for years grappled with the instant healing idea and really wished for it - but I think that's a miracle and a sort of instant 'illumination' moment - it's not as common as they make out - and well if it doesn't happen that way you've got to try other ways.

I'd love to do another iching cast now, but I feel there's nothing for me to ask?
That the only thing I can do is WAIT be patient.
Let the subconscious mind slowly turn and do the work in healing me.
It's not a very empowered feeling, but it is a truthful one I guess. :bows:

But then I did ask out if desperation - Am I healing? I got 3.5-24..... Sigh!

Why so gloomy?

Wilhelm:
... proceed step by step. He must not try to force the consummation of a great undertaking, because success is possible only when general confidence already prevails.
It is only through faithful and conscientious work, unobtrusively carried on, that the situation gradually clears up and the hindrance disappears.

I know this is wayyy late, but try breathwork if you haven’t, Lodestar. Holotropic Breathwork is a great book to read to understand how breathing techniques help move energy and trauma in the body. Anecdotes from the book made me cry. Many stories of people reliving trauma to clear it, as it was brought up through the breathwork. Amazing stuff. I do kundalini breathwork everyday. I’ve had breakthroughs from it. Also a kundalini awakening.
