Rosada, Thank you very much. Yes it could be a premature idea in terms of me not fully realizing the difficulties of working in a country that is torn down by civil war. It may also indicate that choosing Ethiopia just to be closer to the lady is premature.63.1 - 39.
If you choose this option you may feel you are struggling to achieve something by yourself. 63.1 suggests action may be premature. Perhaps there is more you can do to become more fully prepared for such an assignment?
Liselle, thank you very much.Superficially 9.1 sounds the best to me, but it's also the third reading in a conversation, and it surely depends on what you think "your own path" is.
In other words I suppose you could interpret it as a straightforward endorsement of staying home - or maybe as Yi saying, "Wait, what about your plans to go abroad?" Would you regret not doing it?
9 is about a small farmer doing small taming, without much to fall back on, living from day to day. He's worried about the weather, because if it doesn't cooperate he's in trouble.
But at line 1, he feels a mandate (57 in the background), something he feels called to do, a desire to penetrate and get to know things from the inside.
The line is supposed to describe how those interact and work out. I'm not sure how to apply it.
One thought - could you look into the different options more? That could be a 57 thing, if there's any way to get more information. That might also fit with 63.1 - not necessarily "don't do this at all" (because 63 does cross the river - you didn't get 64), but don't commit too fast.
Has anyone else from your school done either of these things? Is there anyone with personal experience you could talk to? Has anyone written about it on the internet, a blog or tweets or something?
(I feel like I'm making all this up rather blindly.)
Maybe 63.1 to 39 could be okay. It does say "no mistake" (or "no blame" - I've learned either is a correct translation).
Difficulties are right there in 39. On the other hand you say you're interested in difficult experiences. Maybe it's not a bad idea to get your feet wet (er, tail) on a temporary 6-month internship. At least you'd have some idea what it's like before you look for permanent work.
Wonder if it could also mean your pursuit of the lady won't turn out well? You said you hope to get to know her "on site" - does she work at this place? Would that be a problem if the relationship goes badly?
51.4 - hard to tell what the bog might be, I don't even have a guess...
Thank you so much. It means a lot.Yeah, I got the sense that irregardless of your vocational skills or your relationship with your friend, Ethiopia is just a really hard place to be right now. However, as Liselle points out the line says "no mistake" - it just that it may require you to become a saint a little sooner than you bargained for.
51.4 - 24 for Kenya seemed almost like the opposite - More welcoming but that after some initial superficial interest in your ideas you find you aren't able to get too deep into the real issues. Like you being welcomed to share your ideas with the people in charge but coming to discover nobody is really interested in making any significant changes, and you deciding to 24. Return home.
9.1 - 57 looks like the best option to me. You make steady progress.
