Here the tension has become so great that the ridge pole buckles. The burden is too heavy, so it is high time to reduce it otherwise things will go wrong.H28.3
The ridgepole buckles.
Misfortune.
Something unexpected happens here, that what seems to have been written off (a single old woman in ancient China had a low position and no opportunity anymore for marriage ), suddenly comes to life.H28.5
A withered willow puts forth flowers.
An old woman takes a young husband.
...
I believe that is the message in a nutshell.Maybe releasing an excess of yang energy could be starting listening to one's heart/trust one's heart more than reason: to stop rationalising emotion and start expressing them.
I have someone on my mind (someone I would like to be with nowadays) but the question was general and open to possibilities.
Hello breakmov,Hello Seasalt
... only if this reading was done with you thinking about someone specific...
28.3- abandon, run away from this idea of realizing love, in the way you are thinking, in relation to that particular person.
28.5- accept and beautify your status with a new love... or a new way of seeing love.

Thank you rosada for your wise advice.Hi there, Seasalt.
What I meant with my interpretation of 28.3 was it seemed to me to be saying beware of putting too much of a burden on what a relationship has to be to be suitable. Like to be conscious of what you are looking for in a relationship and don’t turn down opportunities for friendship just because a person doesn’t fulfill all your fantasies. As a friend of mine says, “He may not be my Mr. Right but he’s my Mr. Right Now.”
28.3 could also be saying you’ve got a lot on your plate in this year coming up and taking on the demands of time and energy that come with a new full on partnership could be a bit much and thus this leads to 28.5 and the suggestion to look for a nice friend who doesn’t require you rebuilding your whole life.
This is an I Ching website but I also find it’s helpful to consider what astrology has to say about our situations and this year we are experiencing Saturn leaving the sign it’s been in for the last two years and Pluto leaving the sign it’s been in for the last ten+ years, so a major sense of out with the old and then a very slow build for in with the new. Thus more of an awareness now of what we don’t want to continue but not real clarity yet of what we want to build up. Relationship-wise this can mean old friendships are morphing and maybe even ending before we see where we’re going to go from here.
Thank you my_key, I see your answer as a very positive and comforting way of interpreting that gives hope and encouragement.'Will I realise love in the New Year?'
28 <> 40
'Great Traverses' through 'Deliverance'
Like when delivering a baby the advice of the midwife is to relax and breath deeply (40). The tension that you feel around this question of love has, perhaps, been tying you up in knots this year. See 2024 as opportunity to untangle the knots, forgive the hurts and forget the sorrows. Start afresh by clearly understanding what type of love you want to realise. Remember the Ancient Greeks believed there were 7 types of love; so plenty to go round for everyone.
28 calls for a shake up in the way you see the world, particularly in how you evaluate situations and the, some may say, reactive way you approach connections with others (28.3). Look to find a new identity and a structure to your life that is more conducive to achieving what you see as your goal for love (28.5).
Don't be afraid to walk a different path than those you have chosen in the past, nor fear the times that you feel alone. When you feel the fear, see it as an opportunity that can inspire you to embrace something fresh. By doing so you will gain new realisations on your meandering path towards love next year.
... of course there may be other ways that you would like to interpret this oracle.
Good Luck
