Hexagram 16, Line 5:
'Constancy, sickness.
Persevering, not dying.'

I just wanted to share my experience with Yi being literal.

I’ve experienced a physical/energetic heart ailment in the past, due to heartbreak, and recently experienced an energetic healing, in which a protection of golden calcite was placed in my HEF (human energy field) within the heart chakra just over the seal.

I’ve been having dreams of annihilation/explosion, where there’s nothing but ash left, with the latest dream being me turning down a gas burner with a blue flame as I heard “extinction level event.” I’m pretty sure I know what it means and has to do with my kundalini. However, I’ve wondered if the dream was speaking of a spiritual/metaphorical or physical death. Few people know that I’m a walk-in, so I’ve been going through the death of that old personality/ego and all the grief associated with it. It’s a strange experience, honestly. The walkout occurred following a major energetic shock to the heart from a 3D, physical life source. In the astral, it was received as a large glass shard received as a stab to the heart. In the physical, it was received as an electric shock that caused a physical heart attack. From the source, it was sent as rejection with scorn/hatred through the heart chord between me/old self and a soul mate. The soul swap was planned and occurred 2 days later. The soul/who I am now is a higher aspect of the same soul. That is, both aspects share the same oversoul. This occurred on 11/11/21. So the original poster is gone, as far as soul is concerned. The vessel obviously remains. And a bit ironic that my old self, not sure quite yet the correct term, chose “thisismybody” as her name. lol

This obviously may be unbelievable or beyond human understanding. I’m just here sharing the facts and some interesting Yi responses. I hope it will add to our repository of knowledge and perhaps if anyone has any ideas?

Seems I’m not going to die physically, according to 16.5. Thanks, Yi. At least I’m not dying yet, or in relation to the below questions, which are about a related dream I had this AM, in which I dreamt about a woman who’s heart is unwell and then heard a country song about heartbreak. Can’t name which! Too many heart break country songs. Haha

My take: I’ve gotten far away from the blood-letting thing (glass shards were removed at the astral/emotional level during an energetic surgery/healing I received recently) 59.6; and a guard/protection was put in place, which came in the form of golden liquid light that transformed into what looked like golden calcite crystal in the shape of a point protruding from and covering the seal of my heart chakra, 59.2.

To heal, continue to turn to my stability within, to the core of myself, and let no one disturb my healing, which is being helped by this stabilizing piece of crystal, 61.1. Connect with others in love and with those who love me, 61.2. I feel a sense of pouring love into my own heart coming through these lines also. Pouring love into the part of this consciousness and vessel that experienced the wounding.

It’s interesting that the fan Yao is 59.2 also.

I may be heart sick for a while, but I will not die, 16.5.

Unedited random thoughts on 16. Enthusiasm:

The hexagram is made up of the trigram Earth below suggesting a situation that is assumed to be stable, disrupted by Thunder coming from above. Thunder could be an idea whose time has come, an idea that rocks the statistic quo, which could be another meaning for Earth as in the trigram Earth representing the status quo, what we assume is real and eternal. An example of one’s concept of reality being rocked by an idea would be falling in love for the first time. You’ve heard of the idea of sexual attraction but it’s not until it happens to you that you understand what all the shoutings about - and then you are filled with Enthusiasm!

Perhaps it’s a wedding ceremony that is described in the Image:
The ancient kings made music in order to honor merit,
And offered it with splendor
To the supreme deity,
Inviting the ancestors to be present.

16.1
Enthusiasm that expresses itself brings misfortune.
The first line describes conditions before we get into the hexagram. So a warning against expressing enthusiasm prematurely. Interesting there is a world-wide understanding amongst all peoples and cultures that one should never tell someone you love them too soon. Keep them guessing!

16.2
Firm as a rock.
Not a whole day.
Perseverance brings good fortune.

So the first line says don’t come on too fast and the second, central line of the bottom hexagram, says here you are on your path. Holding out for The Real Thing and ready to go for it when it appears.

16.3
Enthusiasm that looks upward creates remorse.
Hesitation brings remorse.

Here is the other side to be aware of. While acting too quickly is inappropriate, not trusting one’s instincts and looking for outside direction and so not acting at all is likewise not good.

So the first three lines about falling in love - or into Enthusiasm! - advise you’ll know when the real thing comes along, trust your instincts, and he who hesitates is lost.

16.4
He is the source of enthusiasm.
He achieves great things.
Doubt not.
You gather friends around you as a hair clasp gathers hair.

A truly magical moment, like first love, and everything comes together.

But inevitably the moment or the lifetime passes and then we try to recreate the experience but you can only fall in love for the first time once…

So at 16.5 we are constantly torn trying to live life in the present yet part of us longing to end this slow march now that it seems the best of life is behind us.,

Deluded enthusiasm.
But if after completion one changes,

How did you know this was my key lesson??? Maybe it’s everyone’s lesson. Lesson learned so thoroughly I don’t have words for it. I (and old me) have always loved your hexagram stories through the lines. You remind me of the Oracle in the Matrix. Thanks for these beautiful insights and taking the time to respond, Rosada.

Enthusiasm and thunder above earth hits home in my heart. Enthusiasm gone wild may wound the heart, but it won’t kill us. Hopefully it makes us wiser, stronger and more loving.

Maybe 16. Enthusiasm is a prelude and postlude to 51. Shock and the Tower in the Tarot, which, according to the Law of One, is catalyst for our spirit to awaken. Enthusiasm is our emotional state/reaction to catalyst in the beginning lines/stages, before we know whether the catalyst will land negative or positive, and then Shock hits, and then Enthusiasm describes it’s aftermath. We dream it will deliver those castles in the sky, but it may deliver something fervently unwanted.

Maybe the resulting hexagrams’ images of 51, 40, 62, 2, 45, and 35 tell us how to respond (all quotes from Hilary):

1)’The noble one in fear and trembling sets things in order and is watchful.'

2)’In the same way, the noble one overlooks transgressions and forgives crimes.'

3)’Noble one in actions exceeds in courtesy,
In loss exceeds in mourning,
In using resources exceeds in economy.'

According to these images of the resulting hexagram, and my experience with the catalyst mentioned, I should not retaliate, but be watchful for those unexpected catalysts. And to be careful what I wish for.

Another thought on 16.5 is that it could be saying that with God - Enthusiasm - all things are possible, that one can face endless challenge and prevail.

Yes. With God—and Love—all things are possible. Healing is possible.

I don’t want to speak things into existence, so I won’t say whether or not this is true for me, but I’ve had an intuition about the dreams.

I’ve read multiple sources say cancer is caused by unresolved anger in the body. I believe it was Barbara Brennan and channeled in the Law of One: the Ra Material too. In the book The Field, I read that cancer is light literally leaving the body. Something causes coherence to be lost in the holographic dna. It seems the human energy field unravels or is coming apart at the seams and eventually creates a physical replica of its incoherence. Anger could fit the bill of an energetic incoherence gone wild and wrong, when not dealt with or channeled in a positive way. When it’s repressed, it could become an explosion waiting to happen. An ELE.

Our bodies know health, coherence and homeostasis. But I imagine, just like coming into contact with a carcinogen like benzene, anger can have the same carcinogenic effect. Is it time of exposure or level of exposure?

I recently went through a short, but intense period of anger when Mars conjunct Pluto. It was repressed anger. This particular body consciousness has always feared anger, believing it is extremely dangerous.

When I initially felt my anger, I wanted the one who hurt me to feel what I felt. But then I heard a voice beneath the anger. My heart did not want to punish. It wanted to experience more love. So I then made a conscious choice to pour more love into my own heart, instead of wishing a bad experience on another.

As I poured love into my own heart, I became more curious and opened my heart to listen to the voice of anger. I found it was my friend. When I heard its real voice, I put down my weapons bc it was no longer anger. It was grief. So I forgave to free myself and let myself grieve. Forgiveness is the particular resonance/frequency of love that brings one back to wholeness. Restores to wholeness. Like when the light returns in 24. Like when the knot is untied in 40.

16.5 - there may be sickness, but it’s not a death sentence. Sickness is the cure. Sickness can be a circular path back to wholeness if we heed the lesson. Enthusiastic incoherence has caused us to depart from the Way, but we can Gather Together to make the return.

59.6 - dispersing [bad] blood. Leave, go out. Far away. Forgive yourself and others to disperse this bad blood/anger. Meet with your true heart’s desire, which is not for revenge, but for love and connection (that which supports you, your heart, 59.2).

Now 61.1.2 looks like this:

61. The presence of truth resounds within our hearts like a drum, if the waters within are clear. Our experiences hinge on our perceptions and beliefs—whatever we believe to be true, whether actually true or not.

61.1 - good fortune lies in meeting our experiences, life’s catalysts, in the truth of our sovereignty, divinity and the love that we are—not through the lens of our wounds and incomplete perceptions. If our truth has secret designs, our experiences are met like snakes in the grass, sneaking up on us, unwanted. (Heart disease, cancer, and sickness can reflect the snakes of our consciousness. But not saying that this is always the case.)

61.2 - we create our experiences through frequency and align with whomever we’re in resonance with. Those who respond to us are responding to our resonance, our song. What song are we singing? Our experiences of sickness and health and those who respond are mirrors of our consciousness, for better or worse. Good fortune, no matter the experience bc it’s all useful for the soul’s evolution. (Even sickness can be the calling crane.)

But, “one can face endless challenges and still prevail.”

We are Source consciousness having an experience. I feel like even if we don’t succeed against a particular snake in the grass or if a sickness persists, we still have infinite chances to prevail. Because creation is infinite. It goes on and on and so do we. If not this life, then the next.

Maybe I prevailed over the beliefs that helped create my heart sickness. Or maybe I will succumb to a snake in the grass. No matter. I realize that no matter what I have been denied in my life, no one has denied me more than I’ve denied myself. So if I have 2 years or 40 years of life left, all my time is best spent loving myself and others as best I can. Not focusing on what didn’t unfold according to my plans. But focusing on the pure love and abundance that I am and that has been gifted to me. Instead of rotting in bitterness and anger and grief, why not feel the grief and anger and surrender into the peace and love that is present when I let go? Why not give into healing? (I know healing doesn’t always mean staying alive. Sometimes it means we’ve finished up our lessons and want to move on to another out of this body.)

If my death is quickening, I’d rather my time left be a song of joy. I’d rather love those I love and let them love me and free those with whom I can’t seem to find harmony.

16->45, you made a "show" to gather people around. Loneliness or a sense of grandiosity in my case, to even respond to this question. I CHING is merciless with death questions. Can of worms and earth over what ever was alive is almost always the key to DEATH. you got none of them. you needed company

Update: this post was brought to my attention today and I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately.

Rosada was right when she said all things were possible.

The 16.5 sickness was/is real sickness. The root was rage/grief. The ELE was the sickness annihilating my body if allowed to grow and consume and takeover. Eventual death was assured if I did not heed the warnings/dreams. My year on sabbatical and time spent near a mountain guided me through the healing needed to get to the root and get the illness under control. It was a choice point for me—one in which I could have chosen to allow the sickness to be an exit point. I knew this deep down when I originally posted it. I knew the truth (61) but chose to put it on a shelf in denial until I was ready to face it, the wound, and deal with it. The idea of it being about kundalini was a nicer thought for me. The illness was/is particularly overwhelming as was/has been the root cause that I’ve been dealing with and consequently reached a completion point. I’ve turned a corner and am actively restoring my body, which was only possible with the truth. 59.6 was very literal, as the bad blood affected my lymphatic system. I won’t go into more detail.

Yi was literally telling me I was sick and that my dreams were telling me such, that I would not die, but persevere, that it was bad blood… the sickness was the cure. It was a truth and a forgetting and a separation from self that I had to bring back into union.

The actual sentence that came through from the aspect of self that was intent on leaving this body was, “I’d rather die than give away my power.”

The medicine has been reclaiming power through accepting the truth of how I feel and what I want and who I am, for better or worse. I have never felt more at peace with the myself or as at one since I was a baby or a spirit on the other side. This is helping me fully marry the body and accept its humanity and animality and needs and also its inability to lie. I’m now reading The Body Keeps the Score and Peter Levine’s works.

The sickness was indeed a circular path back to wholeness, like I said.

Zahir wasn’t wrong or right. The only loneliness I had was loneliness for my true self and POWER. Since then I’ve learned what power really is. It is wholeness. It’s being at one with the true self. It’s being at one with how I really feel, what I truly think, having boundaries and a SEPARATE sense of self that experiences herself as both separate and in union with herself, others and all life. And a sense that I can defend that self as a baby that needs care, love and protection. A baby that is both me and God and not God. If that makes sense. And it’s accepting the experience of separateness than is one with self and not about disunion with others or life. It offers an experience of this is me and my space and self and I will be firm in my “no” no matter what another’s response is. Healing the fear around that has meant returning to power and thus healing, returning to wholeness.

I know this is super personal and deep and I hope it helps someone somewhere and at sometime the way I’m helped when I read something needed at just the right time.

61.1 - separation from Self and my power. (Edit: just remembered I dreamt of a brown/ruddy red cobra that stood for my rage and the illness. The snake in the grass was my denied rage/grief and it was wrecking havoc on my body energetically which become physical.)
61.2 - reunion with my Self and power as a whole being unto herself. My higher self as the one calling me back home to share in a drink. Union with Self the medicine.
59.6 - real illness and something I must leave because it has the ability to actually kill me.
59.2 - finding healing through support, which ended up being many different modalities, including simply returning to my true feelings and feeling as I felt. It also meant seeking doctors/healers/medicine etc.

Q: update or insight into the original 16.5 reading? 35.0, Advancing

The idea is to advance and prosper, daylight, make use of opportunities... The illness in 16.5 has given rise to some amazing advances in my personal development and understanding of myself. In a way, it has advanced my spiritual evolution, healing, and connection to myself and others. Make hay while the sun shines. Make lemonade out of lemons. Make life out of death and dying and illness. Make meaning out of what may feel meaningless but could never be. Make health out of sickness. Make sickness an opportunity to live more. I'm sure I could really squeeze the juice out of 35 here and get a lot out of Yi's meaning of how this 16.5 has become 35 for me.

I'm not able to understand all of your writing but as an answer to an extinction level event leading to a physical death, "constancy, sickness, persevering, not dying" seems to indicate something that will go on for a long time, so even if there is death in the cards I would read this as it not being imminent.

Your reading of 35 as an insight of 16.5 made me think of the commentary of 16.5, where the 'sickness' forces you to stay active and focused and stops you from languishing or getting caught up/distracted by false enthusiasm. I suppose that causes you to make the best use of time which is the way of hexagram 35.

Wilhelm Notes: Here enthusiasm is obstructed. A man is under constant pressure, which prevents him from breathing freely. However, this pressure has its advantage – it prevents him from consuming his powers in empty enthusiasm. Thus constant pressure can actually serve to keep one alive.

Thanks for the interpretation. The not dying part is true. Persevering despite illness is how I read it. It doesn't mean death will come eventually from the illness, but could depending on the answer. I think 16.5 actually points to not dying, even though we all die. Something else would come if death would come from the illness.

These are really deep posts. I appreciate the evolution of your understanding of them and seeing how they unfolded in your life.
