Hi everyone,
Was going to pose this question a week or two ago and didn't, then received 55 unchaning again--and wondered why Ewald calls it "denseness."
Ewald? Or anyone in the know?
Thanks and Peace,
Maya

I have no idea where the word "denseness" comes from in regard to this hex, the hex is about abundance, a time when a person realizes their goals and all goes well for them. Life becomes good and successful, a time of plenty, a time to enjoy yourself.

Positive biased, local context perspective (and so 'wrong' from the universal position).

55 covers abundance/diversity of both good and bad. Riches attract thieves - lots of them.

Some pairs:

In the binary sequence hexagram 55 pairs with hexagram 30.
This pairing reflects the general notion of expansion of a boundary, a container - be it in the unconditional overflowing of 55 or the conditional focus on an ideological focus in 30.

In the binary sequence hexagram 55 opposes hexagram 59.
At the LOCAL level we are dealing with an octet of hexagrams with FIRE as the base. Here 55 'opposes' 37 where the exaggerated sense of abundance and diversity (and so potential overflow) is reflected in a more balanced format by a focus on rigid structuring (37).

In the traditional sequence hexagram 55 pairs with hexagram 56.
GOING BEYOND:

55 : going beyond - through overflow, abundance, diversity; 55 abundance, diversity comes from a context described by hexagram 56 - loyalty

56 : going beyond - through loyalty, stay focused; 56 loyalty comes from a context described by hexagram 55 - diversity

In the traditional sequence hexagram 55 opposes hexagram 10.
This pairing reflects issues of hierarchy and so of 'knowing one's place'. The rigidity, the conduct required to maintain the hierarchy is reflected in hexagram 10. In 55 the increase in diversity, in abundance, has led to a sense of overflow and so potentials for situations to 'exceed' their place, and so intrude into others and as such threaten the hierarchy (just as there are more rich people, so there are more thieves).

The generic properties of hexagram 55 reflect the mixing of the generic properties of hexagram 30 with the generic properties of hexagram 56.

A combination of establishing an ideology (30) with that of maintaining loyality (56) is reflected in the chararcteristics of hexagram 55 where the diversity present is delt-with.

Some of the spectrum of 55 (using XOR):

101100 (55)
100001 (27)
-------------- XOR
001101 (56) the infrastructure covers issues of loyalty to some one amongst the many (and so a generic focus on lots of choices and sticking to one - with guidance comes awareness)

101100 (55)
101010 (63)
-------------- XOR
000110 (45) the completion reflects the congregating to celebrate one belief system, one ideology and so having made a choice from all of that diversity. This also reflects the way to neutralise 55 in that we introduce 45 early in 55s development to bring things to an immature ending - nip it in the bud so to speak (the Nash equilibrium process)

101100 (55)
011010 (48)
-------------- XOR
110110 (58) 55 gets its nourishment from intensity in expression, self-promotion, replication, mirroring etc (and so lots of copies etc)

101100 (55)
101001 (22)
--------------- XOR
000101 (35) 55 looks from the outside something focused on progress in bringing something into the light. (and so attract those thieves! ;-))

101100 (55)
010110 (47)
-------------- XOR
111010 (05) on the inside we see a focus on networking and waiting for an opportunity - all those thieves looking out for riches, all those speculators looking out for riches etc etc etc

101100 (55)
100000 (24)
-------------- XOR
001100 (62) 55 begins with, or keeps coming back to, issues of generic collective loyalties that will emerge with all of the choices around. Thus lots of exaggerations, advertising of 'the best' to influence sticking with one even if the one is past its use-by/best-before date. The END of this process is covered in 63-ness and is in the form of hexagram 45 where we have made and celebrate our choice of 'guidance'. (see above re 63-ness eliciting 45)

etc etc etc

Hi Maya

Q: How can Abundance = Denseness?.
A: The more pennies I put in my piggy bank the heavier it gets.

Carrying on with the same metaphor, the IC also tells us that one day if I keep putting pennies in it, it'll get too heavy and I'll drop it and all the pennies will roll all over the floor (55>59) or I'll try to force one penny too many in and the piggy bank will crack open allowing me to get at all the goodies inside (55>30).

Love and hugs

Thanks for the replies. So it is kind of suggesting that we do not put a value judgement on "abundance" or "fullness." It can be "good " or "bad" or whatever being "full" means as related to the question...Hmmmm...
Peace,
Maya
