Hello everyone... I've never had this happen before. I asked for some insight about my current job situation and this is what I received. 10.1.2.3.4.5.6 to 15. Anyone have a clue to this one? I'm lost
And a little concerned. Is it saying just forget about hex 10 matters, and focus on 15, being modest? If so, why? Did something go wrong with 10. Is it saying don't bother trying not to alarm the tiger, too late? Any insights greatly appreciated...

Thank you Hopex:)... I think I see what you mean. So, the proper conduct here to avoid any problems is modesty. Would you even look at the individual lines here. From what I've read the individual lines aren't as significant the more there are. Do you agree with that? Also, does this seem like a very precarious situation, or does it seem like a good outcome is probable? Thanks again:bows:

i am intuitively not inclined to look at lines when there are
so many - I see it as a way to get to the 2nd hexagram

and i am thinking 10 is always a warning to move with caution
- and I am feeling Yi is saying become quiet calm unassuming at work

with all you have had going on in your personal life you may need
to just keep your head down a while:bows:

Hey DWF!

I haven't posted in a while and i think my English is getting a little rusty, so bear with me ;)!

When i see a hexagram with all lines changing i get the feeling of a situation that's unfolded to it's full potential or that of a cycle that's over or is about to be.. In that sense, the second hex is the next phase one is walking in to.

In your case i'm thinking that maybe the 10 part is already over, that phase is now closing. So, yes no need to worry about the tiger anymore. I don't think anything went wrong, quite the opposite actually. You probably did a very good job with that. Now that the tiger is tamed though, it is time to move to 15. You can now work with "reducing that which is too much and augmenting that which is too little". Bradford calls 15 "authenticity" and personally i can relate to that much better.. No idea how this answers your actual question, but i share my thoughts in case they can be of some help!!

Of course you can always look at 10>15 as you would with any other combination: "tread carefully on the tiger's tail and be modest". I really can't tell which approach is the right one and frankly speaking on terms of "right" and "wrong" rarely got me anywhere with the Yi :p! In both cases though, I wouldn't consider the individual lines. I think the hexagrams and not the lines are the point here.. Then again...

Thanks Angeleyes! I always appreciate another's POV. Well, it seems modesty I'd the key here, either way. Weather or not the tiger is still a threat or not, modesty is the action called for. I do like your take on modesty, and it fits well with my situation. I think I need to find a balance in a particular work relationship. Thanks again Angeleyes:bows:

Thanks Angeleyes - authenticity? this is interesting vis a vis work.

I have received 15 twice on work questions - there is a cafe below me
which is stupendously successful and I have watched it for 7 years go
from strength to strength - whilst another charming cafe is suffering
from being the top place 7yrs ago or they were on a parr.

Why is cafe X so successful...15 uc
it is unpretentious and the family are themselves - authentic

I asked what I need to be doing with my work to be all I can be?
39.5> you guessed it 15

I would like to start a thread on 15 and work!!:)

I have just had the privilege of seeing Hilarys
interpretations of the hexagrams courtesy of Chingching
in another thread.

I was struck by 15 in the contaxt of success in work/career.
Hilarys description feels to me like - keeping it real.
Also i love the way she writes - she who is not full of her
own dramas can accomodate the new or along those lines.

The young girl who has the cafe and has had a baby and is
still going from strength to strength is keeping it real and
not overfull of her own dramas.

For DWF having come through a tricky patch the Yi may be
saying keep it real and empty yourself of drama - IMHO:bows:

I do this sometimes also.

I sometimes will also look at all of the lines in the first hexagram. Sometimes I feel like it is telling me to be more aware of the entire philosophy behind the beginning hexagram including all of the lines. From there I get an overall general flow of the meaning. It broadens the idea of the hexagram in general.

Like in hexagram 10 all of the lines tell us how to be aware of Treading in various situations. Maybe it is just an angle to look at the situation and apply all of the information. Different lines for different aspects of the situation.

Take care:bows:

Overall I think of this reading as sitting back and letting someone else hold the lime light. Watching how other's progress and learning. Being humble to the things you do not yet know. Stuff like that.

Hi DWF,

I would consider the main statement for Hexagram 10 and then also the general meaning of Hexagram 15, which is largely about being modest--something that was considered important in traditional Chinese culture.

You may also want to read the article I posted on my blog about multiple lines.

Thanks Zhan1! 15 has been coming up like crazy, so I'm going to familiarize myself thoroughly. I appreciate you sharing your take on it, as well, and that would make sense in my situation since I will be a newbie at my job. Although I still feel like I'm missing something here about how it fits with my situation. Think I just need to meditate on it a bit. Thanks again Zhan1:)
