Hello fellow Yi followers,

I'm posting today's reading because there are no other answers for it, yet and whenever this happens, I come here to start a thread.

The question was "What action should I take with L?"

The answer is 14.1.5.6>28

Stress or 28 is simply about withdrawing from the conditions of stress.

"Legge: The image of trees beneath a marsh forms Critical Mass. The superior man, in accordance with this, fearlessly stands alone, and stays retired from the world without regret." As I have done with respect to my life and this situation with L.

Wealth or 14, I feel, refers to personal wealth of self esteem and ableness in the world. This, well used, tends to translate financially as skills and self esteem put to good use give us value. Overall 14 is about nourishing and cultivating the good (our skills, virtue, Tao).

"Legge: Wealth means "great havings," and symbolizes a kingdom, family or individual in a state of prosperity. The danger in such a position arises from the pride it is likely to engender. Here however, everything is against that: the place of honor is occupied by a magnetic line, so that the ruler will be humble, and all the dynamic lines will respond to her with sympathetic allegiance. The ruler's seat is in the central position of the trigram of Clarity, and hence her strength is directed by intelligence, and all her actions are timely, like the seasons of heaven. Fire above the sky shines far -- symbolizing the vastness of the territory of wealth. To develop virtue and repress evil is in accordance with the will of heaven, which has given to all men a nature fitted for goodness."

So, the relationship between 28 and 14, may be a person recognising the condition of stress, withdrawing to cultivate their own wealth. This is what I've done and have been doing while I've had no contact with L and have been developing, from inside out, a sense of value and virtue and ability and resources, including finances.

Hex 14, Line 1: "James DeKorne The image suggests a situation of great potential which could be ruined through bad choices of action. Recognize the difficulty of maintaining your will under such circumstances. AND Wilhelm/Baynes: No relationship with what is harmful. There is no blame in this. If one remains conscious of difficulty, one remains without blame.

Because, however good a relationship potential may be, if it's foundations were too intense, the people involved, myself and L, probably have to bring ourselves to a place of wealth before we can harmonise. So, until then, the situation poses potential to be harmful, to return us to 28. So, we stay quietly building our potential, on our own.

Line 5: Confucius/Legge: "Her sincerity is reciprocated by all the others because it serves to stir and call out what is in their minds. Without a display of proper majesty they might otherwise feel too easy, and make no preparation to serve her. Wilhelm/Baynes: By his trustworthiness he kindles the will of others. The good fortune of his dignity comes from the fact that he acts easily, without prearrangements."

Once we have cultivated goodness and virtue and our own wealth, sense of value and self esteem, it is natural we'll act from this in everything we do. So, too, relationships that were once difficult can become truthful and respectful. I know it's right when I have no awkwardness in being as I am. I suppose actions come of their own and the relationships meant to happen, do. :bows:

Line 6: Confucius/Legge: Good fortune arises from the help of heaven. Wilhelm/ Baynes: The place at the top of Possession in Great Measure has good fortune. This is because it is blessed by heaven. Blofeld: The great good fortune presaged by this line is that of being specially protected by heaven. AND Siu: The man attains the fullness of blessings. He recognizes the bases for the favorable state of affairs, remains devoted in his actions, and honors the sage who exerted the beneficent influence. Wing: Here lies the potential for great blessings and good fortune. Know how to keep things in balance; be devoted in your endeavors and openly appreciative to those who help you. In this way you might expect supreme success.

It seems a process that is accepted by Heaven. It seems that action comes from cultivating goodness, self value, a gratitude for all others who help, including L, for me, as L has been of immense aid for though I am not in contact, I am inspired to be as I truly am, to fill my potential and so this is an act of becoming, in a sense, what a person, here, me, is meant to be, in divinity (as we all are) and wealth.

I hadn't realised what a wonderful story this reading is until I posted here.

Thanks to anyone who reads.

Comments, thoughts, ideas, as ever, are very welcome.

Especially as I'm curious what people's takes on action are.

With respect to action, I think you will find the yang and yin change operators quite useful. Here the yang change operator is hex 41, Decrease or Reduction. And the yin change operator is 31, Influence or Sensitivity. This may be saying that the action required is to decrease the negative emotionality regarding L. Hex 31 means feeling. The idea is that the people involved would do well to interact sensitively and get along with each other! :)

There's a lot I don't know about the relationship of you and L, and so please take my advice in the spirit in which it is intended . . .

Hi ginnie :)

I like this. I wasn't aware of the yin and yang change operators or how I find them.

Well, it's a perfect experience for learning my value and needs/wants. Though I wouldn't say that I learned it because it's a relationship based on kindness. More like I worked for a year aiming to communicate, always sure it was me not communicating effectively. Then, this week, I realised that if someone wants to communicate with me, they will always try to meet me half way.

This is probably the biggest learning lesson. A relationship worth having is about going halfway to meet the person, where they do their half, to build a full bridge. But I didn't know this before him.

My view is to thank our teachers and I do, but I don't see L as more than this. If I master sensitivity and negative emotions towards him, it's the key to world peace. I have this, I don't feel anger, just appreciative someone showed me my value by taking me only at the worth I presented and nothing more. It doesn't make him good for me or a companion or friend.

The lesson feels simply like "there are givers and there are takers." and seeing givers or takers for what they are, is wealth.

Update: Thank you Ginnie. Yes, I would say that this was really the best thing to do :) I'd also say that if you're being a wall-of-noise whatever you say is actually just a bombardment not really inviting any fair reply. So, in this sense, becoming 14, reducing the negative emotionality here and everywhere in my life has been a very positive experience. Also, I doubt I'd ever communicate in the styles of bombardment (if you could call it communication) again! Peace and blessings :)
