Enquiring for a friend, possible pregnancy, unwanted, she plans to order the abortion pill online (in Ireland where the service is not available yet). This could be unwise, so many women in Ireland take this pill from online sources without medical supervision.

I cast a hexagram for her: 16.1
Relating hexagram 51

Does this mean false alarm? That she is perhaps not pregnant, but maybe something else is up?

Or does it mean, calm down the panic, slow down, dont make any big choices yet?

Although Ireland voted to repeal the catholic anti-abortion and anti women's health laws, and big changes are coming, this service is still not legal yet, there is still a statute that could send a person to jail for 'procuring an abortion'? Though the recent referendum result showed 66% in favor of compassionate laws, culture is slow to shift; still she is scared to go to a doctor, she is starting to panic. The attitudes of having to hide, of fear & feeling like a criminal are still there for her.

I wonder if this is what 16.1 is also about? No need to panic or feel fear, there is more support?

Also got 1.2 about: "is it a false alarm? "

I think this means, go to a doctor or other service, like Irish Family Planning Service? (I have advised this anyway)

Any thoughts?

Update, home pregnancy test negative.

So i asked
"Why does she have no menses cycle?"

I received hexagram 4.3.6, relating hexa 46: which has me puzzled!

Line 3

'Don't take this woman.
She sees a man of bronze, and there is no self.
No direction bears fruit.'

Line 6

'Striking the ignoramus.
Fruitless to act like an enemy,
Fruitful to resist enmity.'

Foolishness, punishment and correction... it doesn't make sense really.
Unless it is a rebuke for not heeding the hexagram 1.2 answer ?
9 at 2: The dragon appears in the field. Harvest: seeing great people.
Advice to go see great people, as in experts, a gynaecologist?

With hexagram 4, could it be that Yi is saying (line 3, man of bronze) "this is not the issue, you are looking at externals, not the real inner truth"?

I don't understand line 6 at all in relation to this query, especially: not acting like an enemy, but not resisting enmity.
Could it perhaps mean that the 'enemy' ie the cause of delayed menses cycles has an external cause?
Something environmental?
Don't attack it, but see it as attacking her, or her hormonal system?

Is there something emotional going on for her, an emotional process or journey in relation to a fling she had, then she panicked thinking she is pregnant, now she is relieved, but needing to understand what is going on with her cycles, but maybe she needs to look at the fear issues re pregnancy?

Hexagram 4, Not Knowing.

How old is she ? Maybe a perimenopausal hormonal dip or onset of early menopause ? She'd need a blood test to confirm that. If you Google 'peri menopause' and 'early menopause' you can see if it fits.

I can't/don't want to do much with the reading as it would just be a guessing game and there are more straight forward ways to find out. I like how the 16.1 was very clear, 'calling out' making ready for something not even happening.

I guess 4 'not knowing' so this is something you can't know without actually finding out. When you get 4 you have to know you don't know. Line 3 suggests maybe not making a thing out of it ? A man/woman of bronze isn't a living person. Living people's bodies do all sorts of funny things that can't be accounted for. Line 6 don't get hung up over not knowing. Sometimes not knowing is okay.

46 here ? Well 46 is a hexagram of developmental steps.....erm and it does mention seeing a great man so I guess the logical step is to visit the Dr, the GP. I don't think a gynaecologist would be necessary at this stage, it's not that unusual to skip a period. I understand a period might be skipped due to all sorts of things.

If she is over 35 or so then perimenopause hormone dips could be a factor and some women have early menopause in their mid to late 30s. But it's likely too early to be thinking along those lines just yet unless she is in her mid forties when peri menopause will be beginning. The most common age for cessation of periods is around 52 but some people stop earlier and some later.

I don't think it's much to worry about as excessive bleeding is more of a concern than a skipped or late period. Not that I'm a great expert but going by what I know. ...still better to see a Dr of course.

Oh also home pregnancy test kits aren't always 100% reliable are they ? Is it worth having a proper one at the Drs ?

Hi Trojina

she is early 40s, could be peri-menopause

Yes 4, no knowing, interesting in relation to this enquiry, not knowing, 46 small steps to figure it out for her.
I will pass it on.

I thought the I-Ching responses are interesting in relation to a question like this; I would be interested to know if anyone has some insight on body parts or energy meridian flows as they relate to hexagrams and to the female cycles?

Also, she has just told me that she had a coil (UID) in a few years ago. Copper, not bronze, but maybe this is the problem? (Man of Bronze?)
