Hi,

Sorry to bother everyone again. I think I need help again. I'm still learning to read the advice from the IC. And I like seeing other people's point of view as well.

I asked:
How is he going to act with me tomorrow? 17.1.2.5 > 40

I am not sure about the changing lines. I think I'm clearly the leader in the situation and he is the follower. In line 1, it talks about going after others. But it talks about more than one person. That's where I'm confused. In line 2, it is clear, except I have a hard time relating it to my question/situation. In line 5, it talks about following the right path. Maybe "following me" is the wrong path to take?

Any advice?

Thanks,
Lyrandra

I am looking at the Whincup translation, and the overarching theme seems to have to do with the "chase." Has there been some kind of separation or quiet period in this relationship recently?

17 The Hunt
17.1: "He loses his position. It is auspicious for him to persevere. All who go out the gate will do deeds of merit." Just get out there and do your thing tomorrow.
17.2: "He catches a child and loses a man." You may not get everything you hope for right away, and so you should continue trying if you want him.
17.5: "Faithfulness is rewarded. Good fortune." Keep trying if at first you don't succeed.

40: Getting Free
"Getting free. It is favorable to retreat. Not going forward but drawing back will bring good fortune." He might pull back, so perhaps to get him to chase you, you may want to retreat after initially being the pursuer. You know, get his vanity engaged as he wonders why you are suddenly withdrawing! :)
Good luck!

You got it right sammiemae. It's been quiet with him since maybe 2 weeks. I think I indeed need to retreat and let him come to me. I get hexagram 33 quite a lot this week. I think it's clear I need to do this. I don't want to contact him. I did it last week and I feel I shouldn't have had done it. I need to let him come to me, but I'm wondering if he's going to do it. That's why I asked how he was going to act with me tomorrow. I just wanted to know for tomorrow.

Thanks for your point of view. You got it right on the situation. :)

I can't see any problems, as it look quite positive and it would appear that he will be in a warm and sympathetic mood towards you.
