Hello,

I could use a little help with the interpreting of hexagram 17.5.

The last 2 years have been exceedingly rough for me: health issues, having to drop out of law school, no job yet.

I consulted the I Ching with the question, is there relief in my immediate future?

If I understand correctly then it means that if I just hang in there and don't do anything inappropriate then a sudden beneficial change will occur.

Does that sound right?

Expect the best, follow every lead, have a dream in your heart and believe that it can materialize, don't settle (in your heart) for less than what want. sudden beneficial change can certainly occur but be openly engaged and moving forward to receive it as it comes your way.

I understand this line as, Character will out. Excellence will eventually be rewarded'. I agree that the casting is auspicious but think you will need to find a situation where your abilities can be recognized.

Thanks for the welcoming and your insight. Yes, you are so right about this fitting my situation,"Thus the superior man at nightfall Goes indoors for rest and recuperation" - I had missed this.
And I think you are right about the last part of having to find something that suits me better - it is just that I don't know what that is yet.
